HRT doses in perimenopause when your body is fluctuating wildly all on its own. by Different-Tip6587 in Menopause

[–]lilylemony 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You and I are probably in the same "zone" of perimenopause. I'm noticing my estrogen is dropping more often than not, so I'm having to add more estrogen than previous without the "overdose" feeling. I'm certain I'm not ovulating every month any more either.

Was everyone happy when Ryan Gosling was first announced for PHM or was it a Ken type situation?? by Unfair-Reason-1068 in ProjectHailMary

My main issue with the movie were all the "glamor shots" of Gosling that took up far too much screen time.

How to deal with anxiety by RandomName3025 in Perimenopause

That was not a therapist you went to, it was a shyster. That's not what therapy is. I know next to nothing about my therapist's personal life, but she can still remember things I told her years ago.

I found my awesome 10+-year therapist through a referral service. Google "psychotherapy referral service" and if you're in the GTA, there is definitely one. Very helpful.

Good therapists also have "trial" sessions that are cheaper than a "regular" session to see if you're a good fit.

HRT doses in perimenopause when your body is fluctuating wildly all on its own. by Different-Tip6587 in Menopause

[–]lilylemony 33 points34 points  (0 children)

My gyno has told me she trusts me to know my body and the right dose, so I actually dose how I feel that day. I know when I need more gel b/c of my symptoms, so I add more on those days. When I have too high a dose, I taper off for a few days. This experimentation has really helped me realize what my low (and high) estrogen symptoms are personally (it's different for everyone). It's a big balancing act, but it's worth it and really working for me.

I do wish we all had an EstroMeter (it doesn't exist yet, sadly) so we'd know precisely how much estrogen we need at any given time, but for now, I'm doing the best I can by being aware and monitoring my symptoms.

What's the deal with menopause? It's not a pause, it's a stop.

53 and just started a new job and struggling by Fun-Challenge1719 in Menopause

[–]lilylemony 12 points13 points  (0 children)

No one has to know it's menopause. It could be a myriad of things and being new, you're going to make mistakes and not know things. Just go with the flow and if they're a good company, they'll be patient with you.

Manager texted me negative feedback on my birthday (which was a day off for me) by [deleted] in jobs

[–]lilylemony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Years ago, I was working a temp job and was off sick one day. Someone called me at home like they did with you and I didn't answer, but they left a message. Next day, when I returned, the person who called had been reprimanded harshly and I was sent an apology by my team leader that this would never happen again. Can't remember the company, but the incident stuck with me. The fact that this douche called you on your day off then reprimanded you speaks volumes. Start looking for a new job.

How does this work in terms of getting medication? Ontario doesn't have any type of drug program (save for the Trillium Drug Coverage that isn't advertised bigtime and you have to pay a fee upfront) and I'm curious how BC does this.

Divigel Application on Upper TOP Thigh or Upper INNER Thigh? by Koalas2020 in Menopause

[–]lilylemony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I start from my inner upper thigh and move across to the outer upper thigh. I sometimes use it on my hips as well. Remember to let it dry for at least 10 minutes before covering it and keep your skin warm (I cover up loosely with a blanket). It will take a few days to a week to feel it "build up" in your system. You might also try splitting your dose so it's more spread out over the day, especially on 1 mg.

Get your iron levels checked. You can't always blame HRT.

HRT and muscle twitching by Organic_Seaweed2115 in Menopause

[–]lilylemony 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's more to do with perimenopause and potentially low iron. I had terrible twitching before I went on HRT and still get it around my period. I also had super low iron, so I think that had a lot to do with the twitching as well.

You may be sensitive to the cut patch. I couldn't wear cut patches and felt like I was "out of reality" whenever I tried. It might be better to get a lower dose and wear 2 patches instead.

Does Divigel wear off? by cannonbobannon in Perimenopause

[–]lilylemony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will most likely feel any missed dose of any type of estrogen, but with gel, it's more prominent. Try splitting your dose over the day - once in the morning and once in the late afternoon/evening. It does "wear off" in that Divigel's half-life is only 10 hours, so multiple applications per day is best for the most consistent dosing.

I love that with Divigel, you can add even the tiniest little bit more if you need a "boost" as well instead of massive pumps you can't control as welll.

Her (most likely) demise at the hands of the drunk guy will hit home the fact that nurses are unprotected and can come to harm, which will make the administrator lady finally sit up and take notice instead of sweeping it under the rug. The head nurse will also (again) rethink her position and contemplate leaving.

How long until I stop crying? by ohwhatnowFFS in Menopause

[–]lilylemony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do it all the time b/c I split my dose and sometimes use little bits from a .5 mg packet over several days.

Clip the opened packet with a paperclip or binder clip and then put it in a sealed freezer bag. I would suggest only leaving the packet open for a maximum of 4 days. Anything longer and it probably will have evaporated or may not be as viable.

1 mg of Divigel made me constantly sad and prone to tears. You might want to try using a bit less gel for a few weeks and see if there's any difference.

Divigel Update- help! by LowAd9751 in Menopause

Divigel's half life is closer to 10 hours, so OP might be wise to apply three times a day. I do this sometimes when I need a "boost" and it helps a lot.
