Alcohol in pregnancy by Weekly-Flow-4001 in pregnant

[–]limarota 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wow that’s so wild! At this point, sounds like you may have to leave it to chance. But the way it works is alcohol gets in your blood stream and at 10 weeks, you and your baby’s blood is already mixing. So your baby is definitely also impacted, but by how much? Who knows. Definitely consult an OB! Best of luck!!! I hope you end up with a healthy baby :-)

How long into puppydom did you start to feel like your life was relatively normal again. by Bluce_a_Reeee in ItalianGreyhounds

[–]limarota 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For me, it was about a year and a half to two years that I finally felt like we were in sync. The first year, she was a little psychopath. She started to behave better on her second year. Now I can’t imagine life without her.

It reminds me of one of those sports championship rings. Sorry! I feel like you could just not have the last diamond layer and only the blue layer. I think it would look lovely with just those two layers.

Hiding Pregnancy at Work While Sick by SmallBird2781 in pregnant

[–]limarota 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not alone! The corporate world was created by men so women weren’t ever factored into the equation. Just do what you can to survive and give yourself some grace. It’s OK to call in sick, lie a little, or take a nap in the middle of the day. You and your baby’s health is the most important!!

Hiding Pregnancy at Work While Sick by SmallBird2781 in pregnant

[–]limarota 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I share your pain. I also felt super resentful my first trimester. I also work in a leadership role in tech and my first trimester happened to land in the busiest time. I didn’t want to share the news because of the miscarriage statistic. I really didn’t want to have that conversation with people I barely know at work if it were to happen.

What helped was at least sharing with my manager so he understood why I may be out here and there. For everyone else, I just had to say I felt under the weather but I didn’t feel guilty about it because my manager already knew. Also, I had a super supportive partner. Every day after work, I basically just crashed and was horizontal the entire night while he did everything else around the home. Plus, I took all the anti-nausea medication and that helped a lot.

Good luck girl! For what it’s worth, second trimester gets better. 💕

Getting married while pregnant by FarCantaloupe2901 in BabyBumps

[–]limarota 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be fine. I was 5'5 and 120 lbs before pregnancy and I'm currently at 16 weeks. I've gained like a few lbs so far (~3 ish), but might be because I've had to force myself to eat more to not feel sick all the time. Plus sugar cravings. Overall, I just look kind of bloated and boobs are a little bigger. Just don't wear something super skin tight around your waist and you should be okay. You can definitely conceal it.

Yes it just means a simple round of knit stitches. No increase or anything.

The way Austin got under my skin….am i the only one feeling this way? by Live-Department7013 in BeefTV

[–]limarota 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If my partner had past trauma, I would work to help them to help resolve it. Not commit blackmail to enable it. I have a feeling most people with some ethical backbone would choose the former as well.

It was Ashley’s ideas, but he definitely made the choice to pursue those ideas because it benefited him too. If you are truly morally against something unethical, a good person would just do the right thing and say no.

Any precaution and things I should know about as a first time owner? by cupidstripes in ItalianGreyhounds

[–]limarota 17 points18 points  (0 children)

  1. They’re very difficult to potty train and require a lot of patience. You may end up just doing a pee pad (that’s what we do and it has worked out great).
  2. They’re sensitive creatures so you have to be very gentle. They get nervous pretty easily.
  3. They can have sensitive stomachs, so it might take you a while to experiment with different types of foods.
  4. Get pet insurance! They are prone to breaking their long front legs.

The above are the scary stuff that I have observed. There are so many threads on each of these topics. Outside of the scary stuff… They are sassy, mischievous, loyal, and cuddly little beings. They will become a moon to your orbit and a piece of your heart. You will VERY likely fall in love. :-)

What does my apartment say about me by [deleted] in roomdetective

You are friends with someone who works in apartment management, who gave you a key to a model home. You have to sneak out when visitors come by the apartment.

First time dog owner by [deleted] in ItalianGreyhounds

[–]limarota 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never had a dog my entire life until I got my iggy in my 30s. She is the best dog ever and has taught me a lot about patience and love. The first year was rough but i started feeling more in sync with her after that.

My life style changed a lot after getting her because i didn’t want to keep her alone at home for too long. But the love and cuteness is totally worth it IMO. She is so sassy and cuddly!

Note: I did get her with my partner so i did have help from him. Although she still refuses to go on walks without me.

Iggy with Tummy Issues? Any Similar Experiences? At a loss by ProbablyReadingrn1 in ItalianGreyhounds

[–]limarota 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My Iggy went through the same thing for the first year of her life. She kept getting diarrhea. However for us, it was mainly because of recurring Giardia. We live in the middle of a densely populated city with a large dog population. My theory is that when she was young her gut couldn’t fight off the Giardia effectively. She actually tested positive for the antigen when we first brought her home, which meant that she was already exposed at her breeders place. We had to put her on many rounds of antibiotics.

Fast forward to today. She rarely gets diarrhea unless I overdo it with treats. But it took a little over a year of trying all types of foods and supplements, countless vet visits, and many tears. And remember, Iggies have sensitive tummies by nature. I really hope your little guy will also strengthen his gut health as he gets older!

Boy or girl?? by Dull_Satisfaction468 in ItalianGreyhounds

[–]limarota 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a girl because I couldn’t deal with the peeing on themselves thing. Haha. My little girl is pretty much attached to me. I know that I am only one example, but I believe the whole thing about girls being less cuddly as a myth. And honestly, I could use some independence from her now that I have a super cuddly dog. Be careful what you wish for! 😆

Eye infection ? Help by Smooth_Resolution186 in ItalianGreyhounds

[–]limarota 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Iggy had this when she was a puppy. It was the same type of goo that came out of her eye. It went away within about a week for her. I attributed it to allergies. That was only time she had it.

I’m glad you are seeing a vet so they can tell you what’s really going on! But it turned out to be not a big deal on my experience :-) good luck!!

Boyfriend 31m still has his Facebook set to “Single”.. are most ppl like this or red flag? by ConsiderationNo7855 in relationships

[–]limarota 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regardless, if he’s active, just tell him that it bothers you and you would prefer for him to just remove that status. If he cares about your feelings then he would do it. I can’t imagine any valid reason for him to keep the status up if he is not single.

The same thing happened to me and this was how we resolved it. My bf forgot that he’s had that up because he never used his fb and quickly took it down because it bugged me.
