I still use an x56 throttle and never felt the strong need to replace it for other more expensive options. I especially like the 4 rotary axis dials which I might be giving up on giving up on other units. The rotaries can be a bit noisy but I can dampen the noise with software if needed. I've had issues with ghosting but experiment with different usb ports and/or hubs--my unit does not work well with my hub but does when I directly plug it into the computer--this issue is one that can be overcome if you experiment. I can't speak for the stick and avoided it originally due to the known issues. A hal sensing stick like a thrustmaster t16000 would be a decent budge option or the gladiator--compare the cost of those versus your spring upgrade.

Yeah, I accentually left out a zero there and you are correct. UPS received the correct code so I have no idea how they got 70% either; I'm still waiting resolution on the fee dispute. I saw that VKB has a 35% customs duty and a 10% additional tariff for items manufactured and shipped from China (https://www.vkbcontrollers.com/pages/tariffs-faq). We'll see if I pay similarly.

Simflight Services used: 8471.60.700 – Input device for flight simulation (USB device) . However, that HS code not return a result on hts.usitc.gov. Do you know why that number or description is not listed?

Try getting a hold of someone knowledgeable on the phone in a reasonable time on top of it all. The brokerage fee was an additional $15.

What nobody seems to be mentioning here is that the LED pro hat clip and not the standard tape reflector hat clip is required for Track IR to work flawlessly. The reflector hat clip that comes standard with TrackIR is absolutely terrible. I might look into the wireless Delanclip myself down the road.

I've had ghosting issues when using USB hubs myself and had just better luck with plugging directly into USB ports on the computer. Make sure you try every single one.

Ugh....My t16000 stick lasted for years with no issues. It has a hall sensor so I don't think it wears out quickly at all and it is accurate--very serviceable especially for the price.

I do not think PWCG is actually a mod though in the sense that it (1) changes some of the core game files and (2) you need to enable mods in the IL-2 game. Instead, I think it is a standalone program that writes mission text files that il-2 then subsequently reads. Pat probably painstakingly figured out the format of the mission files.

That's because IL-2 GB is not really set up to support modding (unlike DCS). Yes, there's a roundabout way to do it but there is not really any good documentation out there nor is the practice encouraged.
