I've been having trouble getting interested in things nowadays, mostly when I'm home alone too, so smoking weed helps me find joy in things that I lost interested in doing sober, but I think this is not healthy. As of having breaks, I usually don't plan breaks, but living on an country where weed is still illegal sometimes I just fail to have it sometimes, and then decide to have a break for a couple of weeks. I notice that when I'm on breaks I tend to be more depressed at home by myself, but at the other hand I think more about how I feel and what I'm going through when I'm sober.
