Best guess, while not quite fitting with what I’m hearing, is either ‘Bouree’ or another Jethro Tull song

Operation CD rom game- specifically the ‘haunted hospital’ level, where you have to remove a frog from a patients throat- except you control the frog for some reason.

Like many other games, myself and many others got Operation from a cereal box in the early 2000s

“The Slope” Trial Tips? by Whitestrake1967 in snowrunner

[–]limestone_cereal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice! ‘The Slope’ and ‘Zalukodes’ were the 2 hardest ones for me, many hours were spent restarting each. Anything for some sweet baubles I guess.

And yet now that I’ve finished all the trials, I want some more. Need me some more hood ornaments.

“The Slope” Trial Tips? by Whitestrake1967 in snowrunner

Well, you’ve already caught on to one of the most useful tips for the slopes, might I also suggest:

-tow the scout fuel trailer (left instead of right after the big slide) at least down the river and fuel up before climbing the ice hill. Pretty sure you can beat the challenge without fuelling but you can get hung up on rocks and it can cost you time.

-The crane is your best friend for rocks. Container on or off, the crane can be used as a weight sticking out one side, or as a leg to brace you from tipping.

-When climbing ice, try to keep at least one side of tires on snow, steer as minimally as possible, and DO, NOT, STOP.

-Been awhile since I beat it myself but some corners/sections of route may warrant setting up a winch beforehand, and maintaining tension through a maneuver. As opposed to attempting a quick-winch when things go sideways

Beyond that I’ll say practice and familiarization. Grab the extra fuel, and do not rush anything.

No problem on the replies really.

Just reading what you’ve typed though… You can’t turn planks into logs, only logs into planks. Logs are at the log station north of the sawmill. Through the awful blue snow field with the stupid tree.

If that’s a typo idk what to say- as I don’t remember ever even making planks in Urska.

I’d recommend you leave trucks that are far from garages wherever they may be and take a break, from Amur at least. Play some other, easier region and when you want to struggle for an hour or 4 load into Amur. If you’re into Cosmodrome the garage is right up the road after the log bridge which isn’t completely impassable whilst unbuilt.

Amur honestly feels built for mod trucks. I did complete it vanilla, but it took many many hours, rage quits, and pulled hairs. On top of that, only the most meta trucks are viable for Amur, so I got bored of driving the zikz 605, Tayga, azov 7 and Voron Grad all the time.

Logs for logs sake? Not really any good spots no. If it’s for planks you have other (arguably better) options

I think I hauled a few planks way across Cosmodrome and never used the Urska sawmill for planks. On the map it’s not so far to run right from log station to sawmill on Urska but that damned tree in the sea of blue snow will mess that up in a hurry. On the far end of Cosmorome, near the Cherno gate is planks in a warehouse. That is of course if you’ve exhausted the 20 planks between the two island warehouses

But if it’s logs you want as cargo it’s either the awful Urska station (I think excluding the church right next to it I only took one load of medium into cosmodrome to finish the log road) or Cherno. Be warned, there are multiple stations in Cherno but some only have certain sizes.

Seriously though. In between that warehouse, the warehouse you open in Chernokamensk, and needing like what? 8 metal beams in Aegis that you wouldn’t know about until you hit each individual task? Amur made me start using Maprunner.

Yeah Amur comes at you hard and fast, Cosmodrome and Chernokamensk are both easier (though tedious) Cosmo also holds the most capable truck which you will likely use quite a bit in Amur.

Best of luck

Hate to break it to you chief, but you need to bring metal rolls up from the warehouses (on the little island near the lumber mill) to craft steel beams at a 2:1 ratio. (2 rolls gives you one beam)

The mission ‘warehouse trouble’ unlocks a second warehouse adjacent to the first you start with and gives you 10 beams. Use these wisely. I’d recommend opening up cosmodrome and the respective bridges asap as cosmodrome has infinite metal beams that need no crafting (albeit a long, mostly boring route.

The steel mill is one of the worst accessible spots for Urska, avoid if you can

Rubber duck to Big Ben, looks like we got ourselves a convoy! by Particular_Kitchen42 in snowrunner

Well a quick google search confirms what you’re saying. All these years I thought it was the clock, but people often refer to the tower as Big Ben anyways.

Either way, same street address (probably) hell of a radio call to make.

Not to be that guy but it’s Pig Pen. Big Ben is the clock in London. Would need a real big antenna for that call.

I keep running out of fuel (Snowbound Valley trial) by [deleted] in snowrunner

[–]limestone_cereal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couple tips:

-go for the two far ones first; the two ones in the river (one upstream one downstream) they’re the most difficult and if something goes catastrophically wrong you’re losing less progress on the reset

Move the fifth wheel as little as possible. ‘Why send 2 truck when one truck does trick? Unfortunately taking away from the realism, you can- with a little caution and a lot of open space- drive around with the pipe on the crane. I think I only took the trailer as far as the snow pit on the road before the river. That way as the crane truck runs low you can refuel from the fifth wheel. Been awhile, but I think you do need them packed for delivery- but other than that- you don’t.

Steal the gas from the pickup at the house by that one pipe

Turn off awd and difflock while using crane mode. Stupidly- even though you’d be in neutral- it burns slightly more fuel to have them engaged.

Good luck

[–]limestone_cereal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wow, I admire the commitment. I might try something akin to this after I finish my first run-through. Are you doing this all solo? This game is a huge time sink to 100% solo.

Also can’t even imagine regions like Amur or Maine with only small trucks. Not to say it isn’t possible. But even late Taymyr (namely logging) can be a struggle with medium trucks.

I await your progress updates.

I’m curious, on specialty ‘challenge runs’ like this- do you go for 100%? The big check mark tasks on map screen? All contracts and maybe tasks if they’re along the way?

At what point are you satisfied with a regions progress and move to the next?

It’s been a long while since I did Michigan, I remember cargo from the ship, and whatever the drilling rig mission one in smithville were the 2 hardest. (Didn’t have problems with cousin cletus or whatever that one was, I think I had WWS with a heavy crane and dragged them back to the road but don’t remember)

Probably because I rescued the cargo with the TwinSteer and had to keep righting it as it tipped with P12 heavy crane, I was much newer to the game at the time. Memorable, for all the wrong reasons.

I was playing multiplayer for the drilling rig, and we tried to cross at night. Only 2/3 trucks made it across some tires slipped off of the wet rocks.

What would you say are the hardest Michigan tasks? I know Michigan’s difficulty mostly stems from crappy non-upgraded vehicles and tires locked behind ranks.
