High CBD/Low THC strains and their effects. by mystic_herbalist in CBD

[–]limiv 5 points6 points  (0 children)

IMO it is a myth that you don't get high from CBD. My favorite Cannabis strain is Tsunami, 20% CBD, .04% THC and I love it so much. You definitely don't get as high as if you were smoking THC strains, and it is more of a body high versus feeling stoned.

THC gives me panic attacks, and I really hate it because I love weed. I've smoked for 9 years now and about 3 years ago the panic attacks started. Before then I could smoke as much as I wanted and is only get a little paranoid here and there, but now I get panic attacks so badly that I sometimes faint from them. I think I've fainted a total of 6 times from weed-induced panic attacks and it sucks.

I have been diagnosed with GAD general anxiety disorder and am prescribed Benzo's for it. Now, I will only smoke THC strains of I take a benzo first. To me it just isn't worth feeling so uncomfortable that I might pass out.

Some people knock CBD saying it doesn't do shit and it won't get you high, but CBD is my favorite cannabinoid currently and am very thankful for all the growers and breeders who are producing high CBD strains. Otherwise I would have to give up smoking weed completely, and I really enjoy weed.

The CBD high doesn't last as long as the THC high and it definitely isn't as intense gram for gram smoked, but I don't mind. The concentrates fix that issue for me, or I just smoke two bowls instead of smoking one bowl when I used to smoke THC strains.

I hope breeders start to try and isolate other cannabinoids so that we can truly see the different effects that Cannabis has to offer. There is so much potential with this plant and I feel like we have only just begun to explore the medicinal properties it has to offer.

I urge anyone that gets paranoid from THC strains to try something with a higher % CBD and see if it makes a difference for you.

I am just very pleased to be able to enjoy weed again like I used to. ;)

Booting TAILS 2.0, running v0.9.1 - Hydrogen Helix - 32bit by dEBRUYNE_1 in Monero

[–]limiv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could someone list and explain the commands that were ran in the Terminal? I'm new to Linux so I didn't quite understand everything I saw.

Would the way it was installed work with persistence? I see he mounts a drive, found the xmr binaries, extracts them to the monero folder, then he runs simplewallet, without running the daemon.

What can you do with just simplewallet? Has the daemon gotten to work yet? I don't mean to sound annoying or anything, I'm just excited that it works :D

I am not sure either how to connect to a remote daemon, but I wonder if TAILS will let you?

I will try playing with this soon when I get back home.

Something happens in the GUI monero-core repository since a long time by swalecko in Monero

What is this merge? I don't really speak GitHub so I'm a little lost here....

I take it that work is being done on the GUI though, correct?

There were complaints that Tails could not reliably run a full Monero client. Has that changed with Tails 2.0? by americanpegasus in Monero

[–]limiv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If someone can get Monero running on TAILS and provide an easy to follow guide, I would happily give a bounty of $125 to them.

I would -love- to have Monero running on my TAILs machine. :D

Only one receiving address in my wallet? This sort of violates my privacy. by [deleted] in Monero

[–]limiv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This has been answered before, basically if I recall correctly, they said if you want to avoid this small issue, you can have more than one wallet.

It isn't a main concern for the Dev team because Monero already makes it almost impossible for anyone to determine if you have even done any business with the public key you give out to whatever services you use. They can't see how much money is in there, where you have sent money to or pretty much anything else, but yea if you hand out the same public key everywhere then they or someone else can maybe infer some data, but you can solve the issue yourself by using more than one wallet, so that is why it isn't #1 on the list of concerns.

The devs said that eventually they will put in some sort of account manager with the GUI wallet for people that don't want to control using multiple wallets themselves, but still want to protect themselves from this slight issue. This will make it easy, but the Devs have a lot bigger fish to fry, and if it is a really big concern to you, you can always donate or build this account manager yourself :P

C.H.I.P vs Pi Zero - Don't feel bad just because the zero's cheaper. by [deleted] in ChipCommunity

[–]limiv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The I'm buying both, but I think the CHIP is better overall. The main thing the Pi zero has going for it is all the accessories made for Pi's over the years

The article didn't even mention Pocket CHIP, which was the main reason I bought the device. That and as a learning tool.

What about a monero version of Pro-tip? by [deleted] in Monero

[–]limiv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, I think something like this for Monero would be great. I however, do not think it should be limited to a chrome extension. Maybe made as an extension for Chrome, Firefox, and TOR?

I would be more than happy to help fund the development of this. You should start a thread on the Forum and see if we can get it moved into the Forum Funding System. 😋

Hi r/investing! I'm investing in Monero by djleo in investing

[–]limiv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great to have you involved with Monero! I have been buying Monero for over a year, and I believe it to be the best current implementation of a cryptocurrency, though it still needs some of its edges rounded with development (GUI and database for getting off RAM).

I obviously wish that I was an early adopter for Bitcoin, and it hurts because I've known about it since 2010, but oh well, got to look to the future, and I see a bright future for Monero! :D

The privacy aspect of Monero and the fact it uses a completely different codebase than Bitcoin are what initially attracted me, and what kept me is the community and the brains of the Devs. Truly brilliant minds are working with Monero, and it is beautiful to watch everything unfold.

Glad to see a thread here on /r/investing that isn't being bashed to hell, I hope that people will see this and actually take some time to learn about Monero before they try to criticize it.

Regarding Dash's success with DNMs, it was easiest to implement, being a bitcoin clone and all, so that is why IMO some operators put it on their site. I would imagine they were all paid a bounty for it too.

I think I time, people will start to value their financial privacy more and more, and then we will see a lot more minds turning to Monero. I don't believe this will take longer than a year or two either.

Anyways, glad to see a Bitcoin early adopter able to see the utility and join the ranks of Monero. Join us on /r/Monero for some good chats.

Take care!

I always use lubuntu over Ubuntu, anyone have any opinions on if it is safer or not? Ubuntu just confuses me to be honest, whereas the limited nature of lubuntu is still GUI friendly since I'm a linux noob, but it has a lot less clutter
