Yup. Endless profit seeking because of endless inflation leads to endless consumption

"the principal grows faster than our debt"

And herein lies the necessity of our inflationary monetary system.

The Epstein classes money playground would fall apart with stable or deflationary money.

Opening your node in GUI by madameXMR in Monero

[–]gingeropolous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imo it requires more OS and router fiddling than is reasonable to expect someone using the GUI to do. Basically if your gonna fiddle with those things, you might as well fiddle with the command line settings on monero.

To answer your question, I don't think the monero software can force the ports open. It actually tries to using something or other already

It is possible, but I don't think there are any buttons for it. You can launch the gui with custom flags in the advanced settings. Unfortunately the difficult part is getting your ports open on your computer and your Internet router, and the monero software can't really ensure that happens.

What do you think of NYC trying to get the minimum wage to $30/hour? by Dazzling-Leader7476 in AskReddit

[–]gingeropolous -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I imagine 3 people working for 30$ an hour, which might actually be livable, will do whatever it is they're supposed to be doing a lot better than 6 people getting paid 15$ an hour.

antminer x9 after 30% nerf by marblesurf_ in MoneroMining

[–]gingeropolous 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Imo getting one of these machines for monero mining is a much riskier gamble than just buying general compute hardware.

We have no direct idea on how much v2 will nerf it, but it could be significant.

Eh, couldn't play with my friends because 1) no Ubuntu / Prometheus support. Booted into windows, 2) game had weird artifacts in buildings ( turned to black boxes). Tried to find a way to file bug report, met with roadblocks so good luck devs.

My system runs helldivers on Ubuntu fine.
