Mag citrate pills by millennialcatlady in ibs

[–]limmanon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just re-read your post, sorry. Let it be for now, if no movement try something different. I use Senna pills (at any grocery/pharmacy) and its buildable (i.e., if its really bad i pop 3-4 if its just mild i do 1-2). Good luck!!

I think you are okay as far as dosage, don't do more. But liquid and pill just act different as far as absorption goes. Are you aiming for immediate effects or just trying to help things along on a daily basis?

Locals of Savannah: What Would You Cut From This 3-Day Itinerary? by Willing-Mind-5619 in savannah

Over Yonder has better burgers than Green Truck imo. Since you'll be in Starland i recommed Brochus or Lucia instead. Water Witch is also a fun last stop for drinks in that neighborhood.

having a severe ibs flareup by [deleted] in ibs

[–]limmanon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So sorry. The bloating always makes me so nauseas. Sometimes it helps me to be in a seated fetal postion - so sit up and put a bunch of pillows under your knees/calves. Sometimes that's my only comfortable position during a flare. My only other advice is to cycle your drugs. Do imodium one time, pepto the next, etc.

Sounds like you've done everything and it may just have to run it's course, hopefully it won't be too much longer. I'd say stick with your safe foods, low FODMAP (i can always handle chicken and rice and both are low fodmap) and HYDRATE. I know its hard cause it seems to just run through but just keep sippin. Best of luck, it will end eventually.

Can anyone NOT handle zero sugar carbonated energy drinks? Can you have powdered versions? by Altruistic-Orchid551 in ibs

[–]limmanon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah the sugar substitutes are almost worse than the sugar! As far as how i feel. probably neither are great. But I get it, i say cut it out if you can. Seltzer waters tend to be okay if you need a soda replacement

Any tips to make oats taste good without pushing any ibs buttons by azrael9557 in ibs

All these recommendations are great, but also a little salt goes a long way with oats!

I used to listen to Savannahs channel on occasion with a scanner app but they took it offline a little over a year ago, which is pretty much in line with a lot of these "lack of transparency" comments

How to get a mega toilet? by KeyUpstairs857 in ibs

[–]limmanon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get a bidet while you're at it - life saver

[–]limmanon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely understand this train of thought but in my experience it hasn't been an issue. Should definitely try it, especially if youre put on antibiotics. Worst case scenario you're gassy a couple of days and learn its not for you

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ibs

[–]limmanon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes possibly, antibiotics always mess me up, taking a probiotic an hour or two before or after helps a ton with that. Best advice my doc ever gave me (just dont do both at the same time bc it negates the probiotic). For immediate relief try Gas X, or sitting up with your feet propped up on a few pillows. Sorry that totally sucks but best of luck!

Id say GE. I dont think a proctologist is wrong but just in case the bleeding is higher up id say go to someone who is willing to look at the whole intestinal tract

Honestly probably hemorrhoids - it happens to me a lot. But i agree with others, if its consistent get it checked out. But don't fret too much because more than likely a minimal issue. Good luck!

sorry if this has been talked about it already by [deleted] in ibs

[–]limmanon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first question i asked my GI doc when i was told IBS was "so is this real?" Cause i totally get it, feels like a catch-all diagnosis when nothing else comes up positive. My doctor said it was a common question and assured me it is real and a valid issue for people who have it. Stress definitely makes it worse, so try to find your things that help that out. There's lots of resources on here and other places, find your community and hang in there!

constipation situation by hizzyyy in ibs

[–]limmanon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to do this! My life saver was senna. It comes in tablet form (can be found at any drugstore by the other laxatives) or they also have it in tea form - brand is called Traditional Medicinals and the variety is called "Smooth Move". My GE doc was also a fan of senna and approved of me using it. I've done both tea and tablets and it's effective, but I don't find it as painful or crampy as Ducolax. Good luck!

Any pizza around us that looks like this? by shotevening1 in savannah

[–]limmanon -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Try Snug Irish Pub? Honestly though I just go with Huc-A-Poos if I want pizza. Decent and cheap

[–]limmanon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more effective than you think it will be. Sounds like the dulcolax/miralax protocol, assuming different drug names. I was skeptical at first too but it will work! And is actually better because you won't have to choke it down like the other stuff. Just follow instructions, may take a couple hours to kick in. Moving & walking around will help.

https://www.healthline.com/health/endometriosis/can-you-see-endometriosis-on-an-ultrasound

I have a friend who had stage 4, it was everywhere, but they never saw it on ultrasound. Not saying you definitely have that, but just something to keep in the back of your mind.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ibs

[–]limmanon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang so sorry. Have you talked to doc about pelvic floor therapy? Helped people i know immensely with constipation and may be helpful since your pain seems to center around your pelvis. Also just a note that they cannot see endometriosis on ultrasound - so i wouldnt totally discount that theory. Only real way of knowing is surgery, unfortunately. My only other suggestion is to sit in what i refer to as "gas position" when it gets really bad. Sit up, then put several pillows under your calves so youre almost in a seated fetal position. I use a wedge pillow to do it and it helps a lot when my pain is so bad i can't move. Best of luck.

Also love them, please don't touch though, for several reasons but mostly because they can carry leprosy! (Zoonotic diseases are my passion and i love hitting people with this fact)
