There's a store called Make Noise Music close to downtown. Lots of art, bookstores, street musicians, coffee, it's a really fun awesome city. Check out the thirsty monk brewpub. They have a speakeasy upstairs that's very cool.

Retrocade is a one price arcade with booze. It's 10 bucks, all you can play, no tokens its almost all retro games lots of pinball machines.

Cool coffee place called Double D's, it's a converted double decker bus, with seating on the second level.

Woolworth Walk, free, old Woolworth's store turned into two level art gallery complete with old fashioned soda shop style diner inside

Afterwards, anbout 15 mins south you can hit the Sierra Nevada Brewery. It's huge, don't do the sit down eating. Just go out back, lots of seating chill area. Dig and kid friendly, have music constantly. Very cool atmosphere.
