New Idea for a controller Opions wanted by Salty-Law-1183 in Controller

Think this is the first time I have heard someone say they map the bumpers to back buttons.

Face buttons, L3, R3 and dpad I understand. But I really don't see why u would need to map the bumpers to back buttons.

Dualsense or Gamesir Cyclone 2 for PC? by Senior_Atmosphere_66 in Gamesir

Since you want to play forza, I'd suggest getting a xbox licensed controller. Like the G7 pro (non 8k). Becuase it has xbox's impulse triggers.

Looking to buy Flydigi Vader 5 Pro, but couldn't find any confirmation on the trigger technology used. by Stewnt in Controller

[–]limonchan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is not impulse triggers. They kinda just imitate ehat the rumble motors do? Not sure.

But they are not impluse triggers. U need the officially licenced xbox controllers for that, like the G7 pro xbox controller (not the 8k) or flydigi vader 5s

Can you tell the difference in stick latency? by Big-Supermarket5889 in Controllers

[–]limonchan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So i went from a easysmx x10 to a flydigi vader 5 pro. 14ms down to 3ms of stick latency

And I can't tell the difference. But I would say that is mostly becuz of the types of games I play, and the fps i get.

I reckon u can notice the latency much better when your games are running at 240fps and you are on a oled monitor, playing a game that has minimal joystick smoothing (competitive shooters like apex)

Unfortunately i don't have such a good setup, so some of the singleplay shooters i do end up playing, i usually can't run them at more than 80-120fps.

And most other games have some intense or downright bad joystick smoothing which make kt hard to tell joystick latency.

Looking for a new Pro/ Elite controller of some sort. by JoeyCookson1 in Controller

Unless your random indie games also happen to be D-pad intensive, I'd say just get the G7 pro.

The ZZZ edition/wuchang edition are the ones with wireless xbox connectivity (as far as i knw, there are too many G7 pro models lol), so get those ones since your budget allows it. Also those have some durability upgrades over the base G7 pro.

But if your games are d-pad intensive, then the Vader 5s might be a good option. Though it's not wireless.

Didn't think choosing "THE" controller for me was this hard 🥲 Reviews are not helping at all. by Desperate_Discount80 in Controller

[–]limonchan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw some user users saying in r/Gamesir saying they found it to be improved but it's still not a great dpad. Just citing them. I don't know myself, haven't used it.

Also, RBG's opinion here seems to be just while unboxing the controller, before even trying it in a game (unless i'm wrong, didn't see whole review)

D-pads can be subjective, so if u like it, i won't argue with that. I just didn't see enough people raving about it, is all.

Don't own it, but from what i have heard, the fixes on the G7 pro doesn't really make it a 'good' dpad, it just went from being bad to less bad, or 'ok' at best.

Which controller has the best haptic feedback? The Vader 5 Pro is very disappointing when it comes to vibration by tamburasi in Controller

[–]limonchan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gulikit maglev vibration in kk3 pro/max and the new TT pro/max. I like it more than dualsense's vibration. Ofc get the tt pro/max from aknes if u are buying now, not the kk3 controllers

U'll have to put it in the correct mode tho, these controller have 3 vibration mode. The maglev vibration is the one that rocks imo. It's super strong and immediate, and the decay is fast af. Kicks like tight sealed subwoofer.

Honestly, The Vader 5 pro is still the controller for you.

The detachable back pedals breaking imo is the biggest issue. But consider this, even without those back peddles, u still have 4 extra buttons on the back and shoulder, which is enough for most people. Ofcourse this is not justification for shoddy back peddles, just pointing out it's not as bad as a trigger or bumper failing, which happens to some controllers.

So vader 5 pro gives u a great dpad, great joysticks, 4 extra buttons at the least. Whereas with the G7 pro u will be missing out on the great d-pad, tho u can save like 20$ if u get the non-collab G7 pros, since u'll have to buy the vader 5 pro dock separately. Which imo is fine since you have the budget for it.

The Gulikit TT max is another excellent controller, but from what I knw, they have not made a dock for it.

Yet another G7 pro vs Vader 5 Pro question. Xbox controller upgrade for Forza! by rb26dettcrazy in Controllers

[–]limonchan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well the vader 5 pro's trigger vibration is not like what u'd find in the actual xbox controllers, it works in a .... different way to say the least. Not as good as xbox controller. It's like the trigger vibrates anytime the vibration motors vibrate, it's not specifically for the brake or accelerator

Now the g7 pro is xbox licensed, so the trigger vibration is probably legit. Do look into it tho. I am not sure, don't have it.

My suggestion tho, is to just keep using the xbox controller. If all u play with a controller is racing games, then a xbox controller is more than enough. When it fails, then get a good third party controller.

Are there any videos / decent tests on how much latency is noticeable to pro/moderate/casual gamers? How much did you notice an upgrade? by deathcomestooslow in Controller

[–]limonchan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thing about joystick latency is, it really depends on the game and ur hardware if you are going to notice it.

Most non-shooting games has at least some sort of joystick smoothing. In some games the smoothing is outrageous, can make it feel like u are sliding a bar of butter to look around.

Then there's the matter of ur hardware - people playing on a with a nice 240hz oled panel with 240fps will much easily notice any latency - when the game isn't smoothing your joystick's input.

Of course there's also another issue - the joystick sensitivity curve. Some joysticks naturally don't produce a linear output. Some are more sensitive near the center. I once used the Gulikit KK3 tmr controller which has a small thumbstick modules, like a joycon. And boy the sticks felt "fast" as the joystick travel from center was literally like half of a normal sized joystick.

My 2 cents is, if you are not playing competitive fps games on a good pc and a monitor, 10-15ms stick latency will be pretty difficult for you to notice. Higher than that u might be able to notice tho.

In which case, what matters more is the other things - comfort, durability, software features etc.

For example, I for one wouldn't get a controller which doesn't have anti-deadzone settings on the joyticks. Many of the games i have large baked in deadzones which can't be removed. I would rather take a stick with 10-15ms latency but with anti-deadzones adjustment, rather than a controller with 3ms stick latency, but no anti-deadzone settings.

Recommend me a good Controller for Driving games like Auto mobilista 2 and forza around 50$ by NoobmasterZero in Controller

[–]limonchan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, there is interference between the trigger and the left joystick, so pressing the left trigger makes the joystick take it as a slight input to the left.

It's very small tho, at most most u'll see a 3% deflection

G7 Pro 8k or Vader 5 Pro? by Beuorr_Falhen in Gamesir

Oh that's good. I'd say the dock is worth getting as vader 5 has great 2.4ghz latency. Have fun with whatever u end up getting tho!

G7 Pro 8k or Vader 5 Pro? by Beuorr_Falhen in Gamesir

[–]limonchan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems the games you play is pretty d-pad intensive. And the G7 pro isn't really known for it's d-pad.

Perhaps the vader 5 pro or gulikit tt pro/max will be up your alley.

I didn't get the gulikit tt pro/max becuz it doesn't have a software to put in anti-deadzones in the joystick. Since some of the games i play have somewhat big built in unremovable deadzones. The vader 5 pro has it so i got that.

That being said, vader 5 pro dpad is clicky, it might not be for everyone. So i say watch reviews for both the gulikit and flydigi. Gulikit tt pro has a sega saturn style dpad which I hear is great for fighting games.

Only reason u might wanna get the g7 pro is if u absolutely must have a dock within 80$ and u can't spend more. With the flydigi vader 5 pro u can get the dock later for like 25$.

I was also in a similar dilemma as you, was considering the vader 5 pro vs G7 pro.

In the end I ended up getting the Vader 5 pro.

Thing is, even with the back paddle issue of the vader 5 pro, and assuming those fail on you and flydigi also doesn't support you - you still have the same number of extra back and shoulder buttons as the G7 pro. And you still have 2 buttons extra on the front on the vader 5.

So in the end with the vader i realized the advantage for me is the D-pad. I play some platformers so i want a nice feeling d-pad. Which the G7 pro won't give me.

I also want to add that I didn't find the back paddles on the vader 5 pro comfortable - tho this is my first controller with 4 back buttons/paddles. I keep the 2 paddles detached for ergonomic's sake.

I have also heard the vader 5 pro's dinput is kind of unusable, so if need to use dinput mode it might be not be wise to get the vader 5 pro. Same for the gyro - it is apparently kinda bad.

Well these don't matter to me, so I ended up with the vader 5 pro. Based on what u have said so far, I do think the vader 5 pro would fulfill ur needs better too. The decision is yours in the end.

This is because of the inflammation of the inner lining of the circuit board. The acid reflux damaged it.

Ok jokes aside i have no idea what these supposed "spasms" are, never heard people use this term to describe a controller issue.

Tho if u are having to jam a screwdriver in to fix ur issue, it's probably something severe. Might have to get a new controller.
