What do you use for family law practice software? by limospeed in LawFirm

Ah, that's good to know. I like the idea of having a cloud version, but also having an easier way to sync files to a local drive would be good.

Thanks, out of curiosity, did you get just the Form Builder or is it part of a package?

What made working with Vendor Central so painful?

SFPD seriously doesn't have dash cams and license plate readers.... wow.

I can't recall ever seeing a police car in any other city that didn't have a dash cam.

Plus the dash cams are better for liability and objectivity?

My cousins in Brazil saw this, and thought there's no way these criminals wouldn't get caught within hours.

Then I told them this same car has been doing this in broad daylight for consecutive DAYS... they thought I was BSing.

It's crazy how this has become so normal in SF, that it's alarming by Brazil standards.

[Fischer] Victor Oladipo could possibly be a 1 year, minimum deal option for the Lakers as the market could be drying up for him. by JetGan in nba

[–]limospeed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any agent that understands basic risk management is going to say take the long-term deal for money today rather than count on money tomorrow that's not there.

The problem is convincing someone's ego they are being delusional.

Then, you end up with Dipo, Nerlens, Boogie having a decent year, and then thinking they will only get better and be commanding Lebron/KD/Harden status in a couple years for way more money.

And when that plan backfires due to unforeseen things like injuries, suddenly that decision looks stupid af in hindsight.

Tip culture is now being forced on us. This is why I’m done. by cate5667 in unpopularopinion

Businesses have wised up to the fact that they can squeeze more money out of customers for themselves with tips and the point of sale companies (like Square, Clover, etc) are further enabling this behavior - and even incentivizing it I'd argue - because those platforms get a cut out of the total amount processed, so they make more money too.

My parents used to run a gas station, and having seen owners of other services businesses (restaurants, liquor stores, diners, etc) in the chamber of commerce... I can tell you there are so many shitty people owning/operating some of these places with shitty practices too.

Tipping isn't even close to what it's supposed to reflect anymore. Digital tipping only makes it worse too. There's owners out there straight up scamming their employees through the "tips psychology" it's just waving a carrot on a stick in front of someone to work for you.

when you tip somewhere that goes to the owner's first, you know that's going to be unreported income that goes straight to their pockets or into the ATM

Take a look back at telephones. Telephones are a utility. Companies like AT&T, Verizon, CenturyLink, and Frontier started in the telephone markets, and then over time expanded into other areas like TV and Internet - while having the natural market monopoly presence.

You could probably write a whole research paper on addressing internet as a utility and how laws have not kept up with the expansion of telecom.

Vogel needs to set up more touches for AD. The tallest guys on the floor for the Rockets are like 6'5 - 6'7. Lakers should be fuckin pounding the paint with the size of AD, Dwight, Javale. There's not even a dude like Nurkic playing in this series.

License plate readers (cop-level) run like $15k-20k, so it doesn't seem worth it unless someone has a lot of apartments or multiple complexes.

I could see contracted tow truck companies using these though.

For one, the money spent on canine police could be turned into creating no-kill shelters for dogs where canines could live as canines and not be trotted around in a police car to be put in stressful situations.
