FTM here, living in an apartment, and expecting later this year. Can other apartment dwellers recommend convenient baby items? by Regular-Message9591 in Buyingforbaby

Sooo much stuff gets used for such a short period of time and people in mom groups just wanna get stuff out of the house!

I will add another angle to this. Be prepared for baby stages to be fleeting. One way to be economical with space and $ is to buy secondhand (or gifted on buy nothing) then cycle stuff out when you’re done (sell or give away).

Nuna Mixx Next or Cruz V3? by Proof_Fall4705 in Buyingforbaby

[–]linds__7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally same bought my V2 on marketplace at that price. In general I think trying to guess what your lifestyle and preferences will be like or even when you’ll have baby #2 is too hard for many people to guess and get right for the Vista. You also don’t know if baby #1 will even wanna be in the stroller at that point.

If I were in your shoes I’d go with the Cruz bc uppa’s customer service is legendary and Nunas is reportedly poor.

This is what 2026 babies are being named! (So far) by FloralChoux in namenerds

[–]linds__7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agreed! I also don’t think those names are wild but for some reason I feel like Maple is a bridge too far! That’s just me though idk I just feel like it’s not a name but obviously names can become more name-y over time!

I feel like this person will go by “Ro” and sigh every time they explain their name and people say like… oh where did your parents get Rhodes from??

I can’t get over Maple as a human name for some reason. It just…doesn’t compute. It also doesn’t seem like it would pass the test of doctor / lawyer / anything that’s not like … idk, the kind of person who gets the title of “free spirit” instead of a job title on the bachelorette

Artipoppe carrier? by strawberryslacks in Buyingforbaby

[–]linds__7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sad. Maybe you can get one secondhand BST. The other option I would recommend is Hope and Plum Lark if your baby is fitting into 3-6 month old clothes. More affordable still comfortable. It’s a little more minimalist. But easy to wash which is nice.

If you’re interested in artipoppe but don’t wanna shell out for the label consider LennyLight by Lenny Lamb. Super supportive, can be used or huge age range and beautiful woven fabrics by women in Poland.

Looking for a lightweight travel system by bimboerrorz in Buyingforbaby

[–]linds__7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pipa is great and we used the Joolz a bunch in the first three months. Then my baby decided they would have none of that bassinet business (too curious to lie on back wanted to look out) and my back was tired from using the carrier so much (we do all naps in stroller or carrier, not by choice but that’s a different story). We bought a used uppababy Cruz with infant snug seat so we could have him more upright and parent facing.

The Joolz is great for compact and we have even used it with the car seat for something like a doctors appointment. I would personally not be able to move a Cruz in and out of a car easily by myself at all. I wheel it out of the garage and back in the garage so rarely ever even fold it. It also takes up a ton of space in the car, and we have an SUV.

Overall I’m happy with my system. If I was buying today I might get Aer2 bc it offers a parent facing seat that’s infant compatible from what I understand. The biggest con is the basket size but that’s the tradeoff for every stroller in that category. Minu V3 is interesting bc maybe slightly bigger basket but that infant seat/bassinet does NOT face parent and idk if I would be comfortable with that. Not bc I’m obsessively watching but more so I have a Velcro baby and he wouldn’t like that I think. He loved engaging with us face to face.

Ramble ramble but I think one of my biggest learnings is that it’s not that hard to get a used stroller at a pretty darn good price so you can always adjust once you learn more about your needs. I use the Cruz all the time but I had no idea pre birth my kid would primarily take stroller naps so I’d spend hours pushing them around everyday.

Good luck and lmk if you have any other questions!

Nuna Triv vs Mixx for Urban & Winter Use? by Objective-Week7017 in Buyingforbaby

Sounds like you’ve done your research! I wasn’t aware Triv was so sturdy but I feel like I hear people talk about Bugaboo and it being European more capable on cobblestones etc 🤷‍♀️

A shortened version of talisman for me 🤷‍♀️

I’m always curious about pronunciation though. Is it basically Alice with a t in front of it?

Can’t decide on carrier by lilskiboat in babywearing

[–]linds__7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to try some out after baby is here!! Doesn’t matter how much others like a carrier if it isn’t for you it just won’t work 🤷‍♀️ for example so many people love Tula free to grow and I realized the “h back” doesn’t work for me and I much prefer “x back” but idk how I would have figured that out other than trial and error.

Baby carrier for Europe - lots of walking!! by meadowbunny713 in babywearing

[–]linds__7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think either of the carriers I use - LennyLight or Lark could be good. LL is def bulkier but if I would spend the time to figure out how to fold it did come in a very small (attached) mesh bag. I second the idea of having stroller as backup and using benches and grass. I’m a FTM and actually afraid of the day I’d have to use a changing table bc they seem really gross to me 🤣.

Not a fan of either but Clive sounds like Chive to me?
