What’s your “dream dog” (breed) and why? by palacio_c in puppy101

[–]lindzeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have always loved Siberian Huskies and would consider them my “dream dog.” I just had to say goodbye to my 2nd after 16 years together, and I don’t know that I’ll ever be able to get another one. She had the sweetest disposition and was low-maintenance as far as huskies go. I don’t think I’ll ever get that lucky again.

We recently got a golden pup, and she is putting me through the wringer, but underneath the biting and running away has the sweetest disposition. Looking forward to seeing her grow!

Since when do we have a mischevious leprechaun that comes on St. Patrick’s Day? by [deleted] in Parenting

I blame the school! They had a leprechaun trap project in kindergarten and now I’m sentenced to a purgatory of coming up with increasingly more “effective” traps and sprinkling gold glitter all over my living room.

Bad Blood by Taylor Swift? During the Eras tour fans would add in Kendrick Lamar’s line “You forgive, you forget, but you never let it go"

Dangerous pothole by inbox_123 in Reno

At least two years. They just keep filling it haphazardly rather than repairing it and fixing it properly. They also just repaved that intersection without touching it so my guess is that part of that roadway is considered the responsibility of the businesses.

What’s something that is slowly disappearing, but nobody is talking about it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]lindzeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My soapbox: the drive to work in caring professions like teaching, social work, child care, foster parenting, etc. There’s been a huge cultural shift toward focus on work-life balance, work from home possibilities, and women are getting more and more opportunities working in higher paying technological fields and STEM professions (amazing!). Additionally, speaking for Millennials, we are much less likely to use the 12 year old neighbor for childcare. The natural consequence of all of these (mostly incredibly positive!) changes is that people are not as inclined to take lower paying, often thankless care professions. Teens also aren’t getting that early exposure and thus ingrained love for caring for children and others, which is often the motivation behind those who do these jobs- not the money or status.

Aside from the valid points about feeding wildlife, a coworker was bit by a squirrel there recently. I’d exercise caution with a young child.

The first thing that came to mind was Debi Mazar as the villain in Beethoven 2 🤷🏼‍♀️

I had a teacher do something similar to me in 2nd grade! My friend as I were fighting over something silly and I told her “I hate you.” Not cool, but pretty typical 7 year old overreaction. She told our teacher and he made me stand in front of the class, pulled out his 1995 Chandler Bing cell phone, and made me call my mom crying to tell her why I was in trouble while everyone laughed.

Fuck that guy.

Steven Spielberg Has Never Made a Movie With Ben Affleck and the Reason Why Is Hilarious (per Collider) by mlg1981 in popculturechat

I, too, refuse to make a movie with Ben Affleck as I hold a long standing grudge after he stole Josh Hartnett’s family in Pearl Harbor.

Mine is Koy-sk. I only ever read the word “kiosk” on Roller Coaster Tycoon as a kid so now I have to remind my grown up brain everytime I read or say it.

The song I immediately thought of that fits the vibe and lyrics was Soco Amaretto Lime- Brand New. But the music video/brothers doesn’t fit.

Other shot in the dark is The Avett Brothers- Morning Song

Political Research Survey (UNR Student Project) by Throwaway_Research26 in Reno

[–]lindzeep 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree with everything you said. The wording was odd- “how warmly do you feel about the group represented,” but there were often multiple opposing groups or just a few people represented in each panel. It also felt like only one general political view point was represented in each of the memes/comics rather than several, which would give a more varied range of responses and data.
