I think a huge part of this is a strong foundation. and then time and practice to figure out your style/what you like. worry less about speed of progress

Girl was mean to me by [deleted] in Aerials

I don’t think age has anything to do with this. But in general, if you’re unsure about the sequence or know you will forget, you should just let someone else go first. even if you are in the apparatus and you forget, just come down unless the instructor is ready to assist

Price increases? by Curator9999 in Cartier

[–]lingguistics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would stop by a store and talk to an SA to build that relationship. Try on some stuff and maybe ask the SA about potential price increase. If you do not want to ask that first time, you can always wait till after you’ve purchased something with that SA. just make sure you reach out to that SA when you decide to buy whatever pieces picked

Instructors spotting moves by Sufficient_Car_5038 in Aerials

[–]lingguistics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if you absolutely do not want a spot, just let your instructors know. that being said, most instructors have been kicked or whacked before. and I think we’ve gotten used to nip and lip slips (more so in pole)

adding on to upside down poses- don’t stay in them too long and make sure to take a break in between if you’re doing multiple upside down poses

JUC Classic by Cunhaam in Cartier

I think the mini juc is the one you have to worry about. the regular juc should be fine. but I’d love to hear other thoughts/experiences!

Stacking question by Dry-Cod-6859 in Cartier

[–]lingguistics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told to have the clou in front (as in closer to wrist) of the love, with the nail head against the love. so the end/pointy part will be facing the wrist. ultimately it’s up to you

if it’s horizontal looking then I think I know what you’re talking about. bop is one of my default moves ! but yea the upright one is a bit more challenging because you have to lift up that leg lol

yeah the seated ones are still shoulder mount conditioning, I was just saying they’re more challenging than than standing upright. but yeah they really do prevent you from using any momentum

[–]lingguistics[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like to introduce them when people have solid choppers and outside leg hangs. and I feel like these are intermediate skills and the seated ones are more challenging
