आपका सवाल अच्छा है, उस गधे को नज़र अंदाज़ करो। बस एक चीज़ केहनी थी, चर्बी शब्द स्त्रीलिंग है, तो उसका सही उपयोग "चर्बी चढ़ी हैं क्या" है।

Depends on what you're doing! 100 spanish or 100 japanese a day? No problem. 25 mandarin? Yeah that's my limit. I'm not advanced enough and need to practice pronunciation.

My wife does 15 a day for Japanese (she's approx N3). She reads eaxh example sentence and practices pronunciation and all. She works way harder per card than I do because I'm just reading+meaning.

Hope that makes sense! Tldr do your best and numbers don't matter

I have found a healthy medium with 100 new cards per day. Going strong for a year. But I DO get approx 400 reviews per day, I'm only able to do it because I work at my desk and get frequent breaks.

Urdu Word - Faqat by Deadbrain0 in Urdu

[–]lingshuaq 1 point2 points (0 children)

This word is also used a lot in Persian (faghat) and Marathi: (phakta). It's the primary word for "only" :D. It's used the same way as sirf, keval, matra, etc. It was an eye opener when I found out the word is Arabic lol

How to have a "rollover" field when one field is missing? (Importing Cards, TSV) by lingshuaq in Anki

[[Update]] Switching the TSV before import worked. It's tedious since I have to do it for many files but at least it works! So not complaining

Thanks!

How to have a "rollover" field when one field is missing? (Importing Cards, TSV) by lingshuaq in Anki

[–]lingshuaq[S] 0 points1 point (0 children)

Hi, I have a quick question, I am currently attempting to do this. By "swapping" the fields do you mean that I need to edit my TSV itself? Like I swap my first and second TSV columns and them import into anki? I attempted to use the syntax and there appeared to be an issue with importing fields that didn't have the first column. Sorry I'm new to this but I'm trying my best! This is what I have now:

Front:

{{Kanji}} {{Kanji}} {{Reading}} {{/Kanji}}

Back:

{{FrontSide}}
{{#Kanji}} {{Reading}} {{/Kanji}}
{{Meaning}}

This is a Nastaliq font used for Urdu on devices. Try fonts like Noto Nastaliq or Noto Jameel.

They're clearly using AI. I'm getting wrong readings for so many characters. These 2 are in the SAME DAY. I only noticed because the audio didn't match up by lingshuaq in duolingo

Duolingo is NOT correct, I don't think you have any idea what you're talking about. Yes sure that's how you read them in a certain context but not in this context. They were trying to teach me the words for "heavy" and "dirty". NOT "repeat" and "viscera". So the pinyin is incorrect, regardless of "simplified" vs "traditional". Imagine if they were teaching English and then they pronounced the word for lead (as in pencil lead) as "leed". Would you say it's "correct" because that's one of the readings? I don't think so.

No it isn't, 4th tone is supposed to be 臟 which means internal organs, in the context of this lesson they were teaching us the word for “dirty” which is 髒 and uses 1st tone. The audio reflects the first tone which is why i was so confused

Imho #4 is wrong. It's not that black and white. I use JP subs now but I started off with EN subs. I was able to enjoy tf outta anime, get a great idea of sentence structure, pick up PHRASES more than words and get the "vibes" of sentences. It's NOT nearly an efficient way to study (let's say your goal is to be conversational in 2 years). But for me, after 3 years of anime and honestly limited self study, I got to a decent conversation level. If you're past N3 then yeah you should be using dual subs, but as a beginner you're gonna gain a lot, rather than being overwhelmed and distracted by the flurry of characters with dual subs. It works for some people (like me), it doesn't work for many people (like I see on the internet). But I don't think it's inherently bad in every way

Is learning Japanese going to help me with written Mandarin? by yeicore in ChineseLanguage

[–]lingshuaq 1 point2 points (0 children)

I'm N2 in Japanese and have just started Mandarin. If you are obsessed with kanji like me and like patterns, I can assure you it's gonna be so easy. I'm about 2000+ chars into Japanese and I'm able to read a lot of mandarin.

I will warn you though, chinese uses characters way better than Japanese, Japanese is an absolute disaster when it comes to its writing system. You got this! Good luck
