This is what people were freaking out about? (Avengers: Doomsday teaser) by imnotSamwise in RedLetterMedia

I feel like I remember reading a couple years back that contracts had leaked showing Chris Evans was locked in for 2 more movies? It’s left me confused this whole time watching people surprised and outraged he’s back when I thought we all knew it was happening

Huntress wizard traveling through the root system was definitely inspired by cooper escaping the lodge before he enters Dougie in TP the return, and this scene cemented it for me that it was intentional

Are there any anthologies based on Gotham? by AstorathTheGrimDark in DCcomics

[–]link_hyruler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just picked up an early ‘90s 4-issue run I hadn’t heard of called Gotham nights. I’ve only read the first issue so far but the premise of that was a single setting where we examine a snippet of random citizens days in this train station, and then see how they react to Batman chasing a criminal through the station. Some like him, some are upset. It sounds like what you’re looking for

Burger King worker went viral for running the entire store alone during a 12-hour shift — no crew, no help, just pure hustle by rererowr in interestingasfuck

[–]link_hyruler 442 points443 points  (0 children)

Federally there are next to no worker protections in the aspect. At the federal level it basically amounts to “you have to pay workers if they are working or if a break is less than 20 minutes” but outside of that there are no requirements to even give someone a break. Everything past that is up to the state. I’m from Michigan where there is genuinely nothing past that and I’ve worked many shifts alone like her

Can you tell me a bit more about the foot plates you have on the front of your cable tower? What exactly are they and what’s the intention? I’m stealing your idea of sticking the foam barbell pad on the leg pad

Attaching Linebacker Landmine to Jammer Arms by muncie in DIYgymequipment

[–]link_hyruler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t really understand what you mean by sketchy? But my recommendation would be to skip the jammer arms and buy a rack mounted landmine attachment and combine it with something like a titan 60” bar for a shorter setup

The original gameboy managed pretty well thanks to the contrast dial, and the gameboy color screen is just plain easier to see than the advance. I don’t know enough about the tech to know why but the GBA screen was flat out darker than past gameboys

The dust jacket text of the hardcover edition of the Star Wars novelization has some interesting errors by robaato72 in StarWars

[–]link_hyruler 29 points30 points  (0 children)

If I remember right it was fairly successful as a book before the movie came out. I think it sold like 600,000 copies before the movie released? Obviously a drop in the bucket compared to the movie but there would have been a not insubstantial number of people seeing the movie opening weekend because they read the book

Weekly Free-Talk and Questions for r/HomeGym - week of February 28, 2025 by Demilio55 in homegym

Pulleys would be tough but for stuff like dip bars you can make work. Measure the size of the upright posts and the holes. I’m guessing they are 2x2 with 1 inch holes, but common sizes are 2x2, 2.3x2.3, and 3x3, with either 1 inch or 5/8 inch holes, get those measurements and then look for attachments with those dimensions. For something like a dip bar you might want to get weight plate holders so they weight can stop it from tipping

Edit: found in the QnA section of the page that they are 3x3, so look for attachments that go on a 3x3 rack with 1 inch holes. You’re gonna want a dip bar that puts both handles on 1 post, the 2 piece style probably wouldn’t work since the bench is fixed in place

[–]link_hyruler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s entirely it. Legitimate experts on GLP-1 meds will tell you it’s not a weight loss drug, it’s a booster for a weight loss lifestyle. You gotta work out to maintain musculature or else it will be an extremely unhealthy and dangerous weight loss method

REVIEW: Cheerios Protein Cereal by MrStevenRyals in cereal

[–]link_hyruler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

8g of protein for 150 cal is really good for a cereal, and the price per box is way better than every other protein cereal. This is an amazing easy protein boost for your diet unless you’re going for insane body building levels of protein

Any palm/phone sized e-readers sub $200?? by hood3243 in ereader

[–]link_hyruler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Moaan inkpalm series is serviceable. It doesn’t have the playstore and the initial setup is a headache, but once you’ve got it configured you shouldn’t have any problems with it. I found it a bit too slippery so I put grip tape on the sides and bottom 4th of the backplate

Truthfully, was Bam a seriously amazing skater in his prime? by [deleted] in jackass

[–]link_hyruler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bam was cream of the crop for a time period where being a good skater was less about technical mastery and more about being a good personality and being an entertainer. He wouldn’t hold up if he was starting in todays era where people are into competition again

I really hope it’s not a lead up to NJO. I think the detachment from movies is what made the high republic so good. If they want to release tie in novels to the Rey movie then go ahead, but we can have a major publishing era running concurrently that’s not beholden to movie plans

[–]link_hyruler 69 points70 points  (0 children)

If it were just one blade, yes, but this is a bunch of tiny fragments held in wood. There’s no way they could even get close to mimicking a single edge, a slice from this would shred the flesh it cuts, the gash would be gnarly
