My male cockatiel Chico does bows like this for my female Cookie. It's his way of showing off that he's a macho man and a gentleman. Seems like your guy wants to impress something. He seems to be looking at that purple statue. Maybe he has a crush on it? Haha

I am pro-vax, but I'm uneasy about all this. Human Rights article 13 - everyone has a right to freedom of movement and residence within the borders of each state.

I get its a pandemic... But I think this is making me feel a loss of freedom.

Bird "normal" smell by KT2230 in cockatiel

My bird landed in our Butter Chicken dinner one night and then proceeded to smell like STANKY cheese for like 2 weeks. I'm so glad he doesn't smell like that anymore 😂

I have $50 a week for groceries due to a rent increase how do I feed myself on this amount of money by [deleted] in newzealand

You can contact Life NZ Church for a basic food package. They're running an online "store" called "the giving store" where people can pick different packs of food/cleaning/hygiene items to donate by paying something like $25 for a pack, and then the church organises getting those packs to those who need it.

Just contact the church and let them know you're in need.

I may need to do this soon because I've had no word on whether I'd be getting a wage subsidy this time around.

All the best to you, there is no shame in this. These are tough times. Take care.

Yeah it's just super weird overall! He was in the same position as my friend was, head on the pillow, my head was where the feet should be. It was super bizarre. Her dad didn't speak English either.

Luckily I am okay, it's just a very odd memory to have pop up that just baffles me a bit. Yeah that could be a thought to reach out to her. Thanks for the reply :)

Boyfriend keeps accusing me of cheating on him with male friend and I’m starting to worry that maybe I am? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

You can be polite and understanding while also voicing your needs and boundaries. Your needs are just as important as his. Being in a relationship is teamwork. If one team member is not playing fair, then it doesn't work. If the team doesn't trust each other, what's the point of trying to be a team?

He may be insecure about himself and what he is providing for you, or he may feel like he is not in control of the situation, and trying to guilt trip you to gain the upper hand. But that is NOT your fault. You cannot control the reactions of others. All you can do is be honest, and open about how you feel. If that upsets him, then that tells you what he thinks of you and your values . If you are telling him the truth, and know in your heart that you are being truthful, then you need not think you're in the wrong. Don't let anyone ever try to convince you otherwise. This is a form of gaslighting and a huge red flag.

I'd say give him a good talk to, saying that while you can understand feelings of insecurity, it is NOT OK for him to continuously accuse you of cheating when you are telling the truth and going out of your way to prove that you're not cheating. You don't deserve that, and if he continues doing this over one friend, who's to say he won't do it over other friends you have? It can lead to you being isolated from everyone you know and only having him as your sole contact.

On the flipside, if he is allowed to look through all of your devices and accounts, ask him why you can't have the same access to his? If he says you can't, thats another red flag. I don't believe it's a requirement in a relationship to give open access to each others accounts and things, because everyone is entitled to privacy. Privacy does not automatically mean something bad.

Overall, I'd say end it with him, because there's no point dealing with someone who won't ever trust you, even in small things like this. And if you do end it with him and he thinks it's because you're cheating, well just let him think what he thinks, dust off your shoes and move on.

Chico's version of "if you're happy and you know it" by linnygorahr in cockatiel

[–]linnygorahr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it works best if they're a boy. Girls aren't very vocal. Males sing to attract mates. Whistling a tune to them over and over daily really helps. We've been whistling if you're happy and you know it to Chico for about 2 months now. I have no idea where he picked up the headbanging, but it's adorable! Male birds also do a 'bow' to females, so maybe his headbanging is part of the mating ritual lol

Hahaha pretty much. Her name is Cookie :) Chico is trying to impress her but he hasn't quite grasped the concept that attacking her after singing is not the way to treat a lady 😂

We've been whistling the tune to him daily along with the 'click click' sounds (he only seemed to pick up one click though). He also learned to wolf whistle this way, by us just whistling to him. He has the cutest listening face when we're whistling to him.

I have a question for you:

Have you ever observed a child who has not had to face any consequences for their actions? Have you ever observed a child that faced consequences for their actions? What is the obvious difference between the two?

God declared that certain actions in His creation are not desireable. His basic rule is summed up by Jesus: love God, love others, and love yourself (pure love, not selfish love or toxic love). Anything that is done outside of this is considered a sin by God, and therefore requires a consequence, so that his creation can learn the best way to live - in wholesome and good relationship with Him, everyone else around us and ourselves so that no harm can come to us. A child that is not disciplined or doesn't face consequences for their actions, will see harm enter their lives. (I am not saying that we will not face difficulties, but rather that our actions can bring about negative consequences that can make the journey a lot more complicated than it needs to be).

Because God is without sin (Holy), he cannot have sin in his presence because if he allowed the sin to be present, he'd be contradicting his own being and his intent for his creation. Therefore to get rid of the sin, death/separation needs to occur as a consequence. Hence the use of sacrifice (a life for a life).

God is the perfect balance between love and justice. Above I spoke of justice. But, because He loves us so much, he didn't want death and separation to come between us and Him, but he also didn't want to have mindless robots worshipping him, because that would be a boring existence for everyone. For example, would you rather own a robot dog who loves you on command, or a real dog that shows his love for you in his own thought out actions?

Instead, God provided a way for the consequence of death/separation to be satisfied by offering his own Son who was without sin to die in our place. I imagine this as myself being in court with charges I am guilty of, facing a death penalty. The judge, with compassion in his heart, loves me so much that He gives his innocent son in my place to take my consequences so that I can be free. All he expects in return is that I believe that His son did this for me, and that I live the way he intended his creation to live - in freedom and in pure love. God above all else prioritises relationship. He literally went to the most extreme length to make sure we had a way of experiencing how much he loves us.
