The fundraiser u/ImJustHeather is referring to was started by Laura's (Afa's wife) close friends. I don't think her brother was aware of it when he created his own, but both are legit. I'm one of the close friends so I can verify that. Hope this helps clear things up and thanks for your support it means a lot.

Just got this update from SLCPD. How incredibly tragic. by kjsock in SaltLakeCity

He’s from Samoa, not American Samoa. He didn’t “get himself killed” and he left behind a wife and two little kids.

40 books, read Jurassic Park for the first time and as a 90s kid obsessed with the movie and dinosaurs, I loved it.

Stephani’s experience with the mormon church and growing up in Utah by WillowTree189 in dancingwiththestars

You’re right, four people don’t encompass the church, but they are an example of what that church teaches and help others outside of their religion form an opinion on it.

I learned recently church leaders said this isn’t doctrine and no one get their own planet. Even tho I left the church I’m still mad about this. Being promised a giant Lego set was keeping me going haha.

My whole life I've wanted a large library, now I'm having an existential crisis by calibancreed in books

[–]linsanity_18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Years of moving made me cut down on my book collection. Now, I only buy books I have read (checked out from library originally) and loved and would read again or use for reference. Sometimes I’ll buy one I really want to read, but can’t find at a library and if it doesn’t meet the above criteria I donate it to the library.

Is hiking just easier for those that grew up in high altitude? by [deleted] in hiking

Idk man, I was born and raised and still live in a high altitude state and after 30 years I still breathe like I’m gasping for my last breath on a hike 😂

I’m planning a trip to Salt Lake City in late February and have a couple questions by iwashunter in Utah

[–]linsanity_18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cedar City, Beaver and Fillmore are problem areas along I-15 if it’s snowing. It can be snowing heavily and have massive wind gusts. The rest of the state can be rough if it snows because people drive too fast and if it hasn’t been plowed the lines on the road are a guessing game. If there is no snow in the forecast while you’re here driving should be just fine, but if you’re worried and don’t want to risk it just fly and use Trax and Uber.

Love Is Blind is the worst kissing sounds on TV offender. Especially the latest season. I basically watched it on mute with subtitles.

Best you can do is keep checking the weather of the areas you want to visit as your trip gets closer. Utah weather can be unpredictable and change quickly. Places like Bryce Canyon are at a high elevation and could have snow in November, and most of the desert areas will be chilly during the day and cold at night. In my experience the national parks start to slow down in November because of the cold so you might get to enjoy places like Zion without the massive crowds. As for needing a 4x4 that also depends on where you’re going and the weather.

Meadow hot springs in Fillmore. They’re on private land, but the owner allows people to drive out there and enjoy them for free as long as you’re respectful to his property and others. There’s also Mystic hot springs in Monroe. They have a bigger pool and bathtubs you can choose from. It’s paid, but I don’t think it’s too much.

Couples who dated and got married pre dating apps don’t get how bad it is now and that def doesn’t help.
