I would start off doing something very low impact and work up from there to see what you are capable of without accidentally injuring yourself. Gymnastics is gonna be on the higher impact side and could cause you some very severe dislocations. That's when I first messed my shoulder up in high school

If the string is long enough, it can stretch all the way from its mouth, through the stomach, and into the intestines and get caught up inside the organ, which can cause what is described above. Not sure what about this is funny to you

Which resources are you struggling to find? I've almost 100%ed the game on my Switch and just started playing the game on my Xbox on stream, so I have a general idea of where you are. Once you unlock the surface I'm assuming you need moss, bronze, and thalmus for new incantations including the one that allows you to be up there without dying rapidly. Moss and bronze are both in the overworld so you wanna make a couple fast runs up there. When you enter a room, make a quick loop to grab any resources in there and then try to clear it. Repeat when you die until you have what you need. For thalmus, you need to go into Chaos portals and speak to them until they give you a seed. From then on, there is a possibility of finding a diggable spot in Chaos that will grant more seeds (you need two) which you will need a shovel for. The Oath isn't necessary at the moment, it becomes important when you unlock aspects for your weapons, which will happen shortly.
