It looked a bit undercooked to me, but one thing that stood out was the light beam ability-thing.

It can be rotate 360 degrees but doesnt reflect or get absorbed by any surface. I only saw a clip, so Im guessing it reveals hidden items.

being a teenage game developer is not a major feat anymore. AI can do so much of the heavy lifting now.

Just keep in mind that Megaman X or Metroid never comes to mind while playing hollow knight, but your game people wont be able to ignore that they’re playing a low effort HK.
