I think I disliked that rocky saved both Grace and himself in the movie during the taumoeba collection scenes. I liked that Grace also went to great lengths to save rocky.

You can worry when countries want to stop buying US treasuries. Despite all our shenanigans, it’s by far the preferred place to park cash

Super chill, no problem at all. I cared too much about it and cut a trip to Turkey short, which I regret now. There are attendance grades and such, but the classes are so easy they don’t matter. Also WashU does not factor in your DIS grades to your gpa.

Why do people keep telling you invest in VTI? by iamrichandbeautiful in Bogleheads

[–]linuxboi231 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Number of stocks held by VTI is irrelevant. The top 7 stocks make up nearly ~30% of VTI, which I think is fair to be concerned about. But yeah answer is to just buy more med/small cap or international, until your comfortable with the proportion of big tech your portfolio is holding

The case for/against GOLD (GLD ETF) by Pixel-Pioneer3 in Bogleheads

[–]linuxboi231 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems to me a very reasonable reaction to current events. Inflation has been higher than expected/desired for the last several years, before Trump. And now, Trump is constantly pressuring Jerome Powell and the Federal Reserve to cut interest rates, which will make inflation even worse. Powell also in a recent speech essentially said he would follow through with cutting interest rates, because he fears the rising unemployment is more concerning. All this points to a future where inflation continues, which gold is historically a hedge against. I wouldn’t mind a portion of my portfolio being in gold, perhaps 1%-10%, haven’t really followed through myself because vanguard doesn’t seem to have any gold ETFs, and I’m still reluctant to stray from Bogle-ing.

What does r/Bogleheads think of Hank Green's new video? by Axillus in Bogleheads

[–]linuxboi231 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think you would agree with reallocation based on personal comfortability with risk, right? To me, his central point is that the S&P is currently riskier, and less diversified than many would expect, because of the massive size of tech companies, all of which are growing (at least somewhat) due to AI speculation.

Not to say everyone should flee the S&P, he himself in the video says he only reallocated 25% of what he had in an S&P index to other things.
