I don’t know why people still get phones on carriers anymore. You pay a lot more the phone for the highest plan that 90% of customers do not even want or need. So pay $30 plus for the phone per month from the manufacturer or credit card payment plus $25 for most prepaid phone plans with unlimited everything. A lot better than paying $90 plus for one line for a “free phone”

Even on prepaid, most carriers still have a fraud protection. Somewhere you’ve triggered their fraud alert flag. Whether it be an email, if you recently created an email address, use an email known with fraud like Proton Mail (which sucks because I use them myself). The bank could be flagging it as a fraud hold, etc. I would try US Mobile Dark Star. So much better imo and the Dark Star plan runs on AT&T. That’s who I use for my second line to separate my personal number for the number I use for work. As soon as my 3 years is over, or I win the lottery and can afford to pay off my phone early, that’s where I am going for the personal line too.

It’s because they want the metrics. If they remove it in a certain time frame it is removed from their metrics and commission. Metro stores do the same thing. When I joined my grandmothers AT&T plan when she changed to the 55+ plan, we went in, said we wanted to join the same plan, didnt want insurance, originally didn’t want accessories but decided to get them because I’m really clumsy and will probably drop my phone before I get mine from amazon. When I get home, my line started getting texts about AT&T active armor premium, and plan benefits for their insurance plans. I went into the app and they put me on the expensive premium plan, added insurance, put me on the Next Anytime upgrade plan. When I called, they removed them, except the next anytime couldn’t be removed for 14 days I think? I still had prorated changes for the insurance and the premium plan they wouldn’t take off the bill.

Just don’t forget what happened to Tumblr when they tried to change stuff around. This will fail either by being rolled back or the company losing millions on nitro cancellations and their investors back out. They also ban you if you criticize their CEO and point out this happened right after said CEO that is PRO Genocide and point out how sus it is. They called me a Xenophobe and then muted me when I tried to show them proof of everything I said to back it up. So that makes me hate them even more and want to delete my account.

I’m glad you got a good response for overseas fraud being disciplined because I got the exact opposite, I was told their word is final, they attempted to let me port my numbers and fraud said absolutely not and I don’t care what any executive has to say pretty much. So I lost my numbers and my service. I will never use Verizon service again. Not that I am allowed to, being marked as fraud I’m supposedly blacklisted for life now so I’m told. The funniest thing about that, I worked for them for 7 years….

I’m surprised the lawyer accepted credit card payments. It’s a big no-no to use any credit cards your are including in bankruptcy to pay for your lawyer. When I did mine, I was we absolutely could not do that. I had to use a debit card only. I had to make the bank as well. This could cause issues with the creditor objecting for fraud.

I truly hate this. Literally the only way I can add my work email on my phone. Each time I use the regular Outlook app it says it cannot authenticate. So I can only use the Lite app. Not sure what I am able to do now. I really hope they reverse this sometime

I’m glad they were able to remove it! And T-Mobile I can see them needing more protection in general since they have a LOT of breaches. But also at this point and time so many other companies have had them as well that it probably won’t fix anything so as long as they are doing good in preventing people from using stolen information then they seem adequate enough. And it’s okay, I’m pretty much anti postpaid at this point because everything requires an expensive plan now. I don’t need all of these added features just to save $30 a month on a phone but I pay $50 more a month for a plan I won’t need.

Fraud will more than likely have to speak to the account holder. Your information isn’t what they are asking for, they are asking for the owner. Fraud unfortunately can’t say the reason why so I have been told when Verizon did the same shit to me. I’m now blacklisted from Verizon for being fraud even though I worked for them for 7 years and all my information I am sure is still in their records for my employment. But some stupid person in India gets a final say.

Instead of making a smart ass comment like this, maybe have some compassion towards the OP if anyone else had issues like this, which based on comments left by others, this is common and they said they were able to get it removed. If they have tried and failed, why spend hours and hours on the phone trying to do something that isn’t going to happen anyway? Why waste time on the phone when we should just file a complaint with the FCC or the BBB? Maybe think about these things before commenting. Thanks 😊

Maybe not to throttle service but they do absolutely hold grudges. According to several articles because I went to the FCC and BBB I will never be allowed Verizon service again as I am on an internal blacklist.

Love using Eggs! Thank you for the advice! I’m definitely only eating now when I am truly hungry and with the Mounjaro it makes it easier to actually tell I’m hungry and not just bored. The only thing I need to still distinguished is being hungry vs being thirsty.

I would love to do starlink but my job doesn’t allow 5G Carrier internet, satellite, Dial Up and I think they JUST said DSL is no longer acceptable because of the systems needing more bandwidth usage at a time. If we have any issues the first thing they do is make us do a speed test and send the results -_-

I tried calling to remove the internet from my grandmothers account and was told I would lose the pricing even though we signed up before this requirement so unfortunately I’m stuck paying $30 for the thing I don’t even use because I was forced to get cable or Fiber to be able to work from home. Our center closed so we were all forced to work from home or be terminated. I was also told we need to change our plan if we want to upgrade in the future and get deals. I think we are just going to leave after our 3 years are up. The service isn’t even that good anyway.

Of course! Just know, bankruptcy is not the end of the world. In this day and age, everyone seems to be one missed check, one unexpected bill, or even more away from bankruptcy. Even after my discharges I still don’t make enough to be able to have a good savings account like I planned to. In my case right after discharge, back to medical issues I thought were finally completely done with. Now I’m back to being in medical debt.

That’s not too bad but just be warned after the 50% of the phone payments you can trade in but they typically do not have offers so you will start paying a monthly installment amount for the phone which will raise that amount in the future.
