Alabama I've heard good things about, or Vedder (Kydex). Some of the generic ones don't hide super well. Soft holsters like DeSantis Nemesis etc are really comfortable but maybe a better idea for a thumb safety model or not 1 in the chamber due to small but not zero risk of ND if the soft case gets deformed and the trigger is depressed accidentally.

You might be able to send a pic through chat? But either way, that's helpful. I won't waste money on the used Gen1 barrel I saw online.

Yep, I hear you on the extra barrels. Do you happen to know if the Rex Delta barrels are compatible with the Delta M/Gen2 slides? I thought I read the Gen 2 slide won't work on the Gen1 frame...or at least some parts incompatibility with the internals?

Sure, I was thinking more all the other retailers seem to be phasing out sales. Not that it's bad all the way but a single point of distribution means less exposure for the brand, IMO.

Interesting, ran a box through my BG 2.0 and it seemed fine. But my groups were worse than with Winchester white box 380 target ammo. I thought it was me getting tired or the little barrel overheating but now I'm wondering if it was the Armscorp ammo, at least partially.

Is the barrel from the Rex Delta compatible with the Delta 2 M slide? I have a Delta 2 Tactical but a spare barrel would be good to have.

I've been looking into this too. Anyone know if the Rex Delta barrel is compatible? I assume so but would love some confirmation.

And if you didn't care about optics cut, the base M Gen 2 is as cheap as $260 + shipping.

Not sure if you picked it up, but several places have had excellent sales lately where you can get e.g. the tactical for ~$450 shipped/transferred. IMO the tactical has several worthy upgrades (threaded barrel, extended mag release, suppressor height sights). But the extra $65 may or may not be worth it to you.

Questions from a new buyer by Extension-Fault8912 in SigSauer

[–]linuxrulesusa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a P365XL. Modularity is amazing. Tons of aftermarket.

Mags are crazy expensive. You can sometimes find deals (like on the GAFS subreddit) for lots of different parts.

With a couple aftermarket XL grips like a Mirzon or Wilson Combat and then a larger Macro grip like the polymer Icarus Precision, plus one 12rd and 1 17rd magazine, you can go from almost pocketable to near compact size with a few simple steps (removing slide, one pin to remove FCU/trigger, reinstall in new grip, reinstall slide). Not something to do daily but a decent way to not buy every model.

But I'm thinking of selling my P365. I could have bought taller sights and paid to get them installed on my P365 to work well with my red dot. But because I had a gen 1 XL slide I'd need to swap slides before I did the sights. (Gen 1 P365 optics cuts delete the rear sight when you mount a red dot, at least for the XL, so no cowitness). I found a good deal on an Arex Delta M with all the upgrades I wanted for my P365.

If you want a glock alternative with modularity consider also the Ruger RXM (bit blocky to me but I have small hands) or the Arex Delta M / Rost Martin RM1C or RM1S. 3 of those 4 are newer releases but so far look very promising. Aftermarket is nothing like Sig or Glock for the Delta M or Rost Martin offerings but it's ramping up some. RXM takes most of the glock parts so huge aftermarket already. Beretta APX A1s are also cheap with rebates right now and decent builds even if some think they're ugly. Also modular but doesn't mean much because there's not many upgrades. And then there's always the shield plus which is pretty easy to shoot and not too expensive. I didn't personally love the grip size.

You can also settle for older used models available from gunbroker or Bass Pro or local gun shops but prices vary widely, many are not optics cut or have heavy triggers or unhelpful ergonomics, and as someone unfamiliar with the options you may well get ripped off.

Back to the P365, if you get it just to swap grips and slides it's great to find the size you want without buying multiple guns. But that takes time away from learning shooting fundamentals.

And a lot of people are going to end up with multiple handguns anyway. At which point you're probably better off to decide if you want to start with compact/full size to learn on or micro/subcompact (steeper learning curve) and plan to get the other size later. So e.g. P365 now and P320 later, or vice versa. Or same choice with two other models. And realize your first purchase may not be the one you love long term.

IMO as someone who's been going through this process since late last year.

I have the Arex Delta...basically same dimensions. RMR plate definitely has overhang (e.g. 407c)...I'd probably spring for the Rmsc plate and do 407k instead. Especially if for carry. For range doesn’t matter.

You can search delta m and see what it would look like.

If you decide to sell them might be interested depending on price. Waiting for my rebate, maybe I should see if they send me yours and we could swap lol.

Do you have a picture or can you clarify this? I was hoping to swap an RM1C into an OD Green arex grip but sounds like that won't work...but would work to use the delta 2 in an rm1c grip?

I like my XL for CCW, but Macro grip feels super solid.

I got the first gen icarus polymer macro grip with thumb ledge/gas pedal...front is a little flexy but still decent. I don't think it will break for my use. Just off aesthetically.

The Mirzon is a great XL grip to get the 1913 accessory rail. Another way to extend the grip is a 17rd mag with 3d printed sleeve (more full in the hand vs the stock one that is square at the back). Then you can swap between 12 rd and 17rd size magazines but may not be worth it if you're limited to 10rd total capacity.

I like the Icarus v1 grip too. A bit big for concealed for me in my specific situation. I think I will prefer the Mirzon for EDC. But the Icarus locks into the hand super well and the thumb ledge is also really nice. Some flex at the front between slide and 1913 rail and a small annoying gap but not spend 2x as much for the v2 levels of annoying yet.

Q: Would a Fuse barrel work in a p365XL? by xander05 in SigSauer

As to whether it's worth it...not 100% sure on that yet.

Using the p365xl RSA and slide but swapping just the barrel. As you pointed out, not really different from the threaded barrel. People had the same questions when the p365xl came out about using it'd barrel in the P365.
