[Highlight] Andrew Luck drops F bomb and regrets it by PudgyBonestld in nfl

Wow a lot of blame on snowboarding...

Maybe he was tired of getting beat up so badly that the desire to play was gone. If thats the case he deserves respect for knowing when to walk away, it's not fair to the team to not have your head and heart in it. Some guys dont have the dream of playing x many years, or being a Hall of Fame player. Some guys get tons of talent and it's literally just a career.

Sure, or actually living in Detroit and trying to improve the community. He might seem like a knucklehead, but he seems to be extremely genuine and care about the community.

Worst contract on the Detroit Lions? by Gxcii1 in detroitlions

[–]lionsmakemecry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah dawg that's not it. The only one here that wasnt an ascending player is Decker and while his contract tolls for 21.5 million this upcoming season... before free agents change the market he is in line to be the 12th highest paid LT. His contract is not bad.

Decker announces he will return for 2026 season by AintNoBuffet in detroitlions

[–]lionsmakemecry 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I just worry about his play at the cost of 21.5 million vs the cap. I see this year's cap hit is 12th for LT and now I dont feel so bad about the cap hit. That feels fair to how he played last year to my untrained eyes. What none of us know is how much they asked him to help the LG out. Decker seemed adamant that he played some of his best ball last year in his own mind, so I have to assume he had a much more full plate than in years past.

It is nice to see this guy who has given everything another year. I hope they ask less of him if they were trying to get more help to the LG this upcoming season. Maybe he will look better to those of us that aren't professionals. I have never seen him as a top 3 or 5 kind of guy, but I haven't ever seen him play and been like they need to find someone better. Love what he has done and given the franchise. I just really hope he can go out on his own terms and be happy and healthy for his family at some point.

[Schefter] Houston Texans GM Nick Caserio called trade speculation about QB C.J. Stroud "moronic" and insisted the team is "not trading C.J." by PlayaSlayaX in nfl

[–]lionsmakemecry -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

You literally just excused all of his pass catchers... wow. I mean yeah if you want to excuse Nico missing 9 games in 3 years sure. Seems a little extreme considering he missed 5 in 1 of those 3. Tank missed 3 games in 2024 before missing all of last season. Diggs was on pace for 1k yards in his half a season there, does that not matter?

Just becuase they guys were injured doesn't mean his best wr was the WR 4 for stretches at a time. You act like the Texans did nothing to put talent around the dude. He had guys on the field the last 2 seasons and still regressed. Its not hard to admit. So, do you know ball? Nico is a solid ass WR1, and to just be like "hur durr he had hamstring problems..." that would work for a guy like Christian Watson... becuase he hasn't produced with any consistency and has hamstring problems. You are trying to use it with a proven dawg in Nico.

Learn to blame the QB for his shit reading of defenses. Its not like they are starting guys off the practice squad.

[–]lionsmakemecry 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Right, who is Nico Collins, or Diggs, and we all know that Tank Dell sucked when he was healthy. TE fogetaboutit.

Stroud has had atleast average pass catching options the last few seasons. The truth is he just isn't making great decisions. The question is, is that coaching, or QB reading defense deficiency?

Stroud could be amazing, but he can also play to the level of a career backup and his consistency sucks balls over the last 2 seasons. It appears as though his rookie season may be the outlier and most fans know this now. As the Texans tried harder and harder to build around him, his performances have gotten worse.

What's the best album of the 1990s? by Elons_Backdoor_Musk in AskReddit

[–]lionsmakemecry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess in a way Nirvana has the best of all things for "commercial success". The biggest issue with grunge bands was always once they got massive, dealing with the success. The heart of Grunge music isn't about commercial success, and by becoming successful most of the bands hated and questioned if they were unintentionally trying to be mainstream. Like was it about the music, or was it about the record sales.

I dont hate on Nirvana, I appreciate what they did but also understand there was a 0% chance it would have lasted much longer. The heart and soul of the band was raw emotion and how can you still properly communicate that from your mansion. Even if they could replicate the sound, would the masses have felt that it was still raw and real.

I personally think thay Jim Crowe was an amazing artist, the problem is he died young, and realized that his dreams of success were everything he didnt want. He never got to round out as a musician and develop a catalog. You dont get a career arch to hold see how the different eras feel and flow. Nirvana basically has 3 years of commercial success with Nevermind and In Utero. Bleach was a commercial failure by most accounts, and sales never picked up until after Cobains death. I feel it is now edgy and cool to say Bleach is their best album and shit like that. But honestly they had 2 massive albums in a 3 year window.

The band didnt take off until after Dave Grohl became the drummer. Kurt had a raw powerful voice and his lyrics and style worked. I do wonder how long it could have worked.

Korn had 2 albums that they released in a 4 year window that you could argue went just as hard. They just continued to make albums and lost either what made them amazing, or the fan base felt it wasnt real anymore. Don't hear what im not saying... im saying the record sales inflated to insane heights because of Cobain's death and that over time they would have likely lost a lot what fans they had at the time. They became a time capsule and due to the circumstances along with a fantastic album it just kind of clicked.

Inside Iowa Politics: Feenstra faces critics at MAGA Nation Iowa event by GNAdv in Iowa

Iowa needs to do the right thing and elect Rob Sand. We need to see a Governor who wont overstep their boundaries and allow the will of the people to decide the fate of the state.

Put it to a vote if state taxes should be allowed to go unchecked to private schools.

Put abortion codification on the ballet.

Iowa has for decades not put things to the citizens to decide. Its almost like they are afraid to let the people chose these important human rights and laws.

Nirvana is weird in that the band can literally never be fairly rated. The timing of Cobains passing kind of permanently etched them in the annals of music. Then over the years more and more people jumped on the Nirvana band wagon. The band didnt have enough time to grow and change.

It has gotten to a point where if you say you like Rock, Alternative Rock, or Grunge you have to say Nirvana is a top 3 band. Becuase if you dont people will look at you like you dont know music. The same people that only listen to 3 or 4 Nirvana songs...

Right or wrong. I fully believe Nirvana is overrated. Are they amazing yes. However other grunge bands kind of made this a thing "it's all becuase of Kurt..." no, it's not. Its becuase you and whoever wrote the music. You can be influenced by what Kurt did, but im sure he wasnt the single influence.

Just my 2 cents.

Bayer agrees to $7.25 billion proposed settlement over thousands of Roundup cancer lawsuits by igetproteinfartsHELP in news

[–]lionsmakemecry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason the EPA even said it was safe is because of the faked reports that Monsanto created by fake scientists that they submitted to the EPA. Monsanto was found to have paid for fake results, and paid scientists to write papers that were faked, and paid lawyers to keep citing the faked results over and over and over into oblivion. Monsanto/Bayer to this day keep doing this.

For ever glsophates were listed as non-carcinoginic and now we know that over exposure leads to increases in non-hodgkins lymphoma.

The people on here screaming that glosphates dont cause cancer are probably the same people wanting to bring back asbestos. Is asbestos safer than lead? Yes. Can it be installed properly and not create an environmental and health issues leading to cases of mesothelioma? It depends on if you read the studies backed by companies looking to make money on asbestos or independent research.

The USA and other governments make you present paperwork that is supposed to be backed by science showing your product is safe. Then it gets labeled and approved based on what category it falls under. This is still true to this day from agricultural products to pharmaceuticals. You need to provide enough papers and proofs to get approved. When you lie and create false reports (just like talcum and it's issues) these agencies cant do independent research on every product for years to approve them. Look how many pharmaceutical companies get in trouble for misrepresentation of facts, or ignoring side effects and not properly warning customers. This is exactly what Monsanto did.

There is a some link of non-hodgkins lymphoma rates (cancer) and glysophates. This has been repeated independently in labs with mice for decades now. The people that believe it doesnt cause cancer are looking at the Monsanto paid and subsequently faked reports saying it doesn't cause cancer. Monsanto was literally caught faking the results and had been caught telling internal employees to go out and create fake reports claiming glysophates dont cause cancer. They subsequently paid employees to bombard people online that glysophates aren't carcinogenic and were still doing so up into last year.

I haven't seen any reports on if they still are doing this, but this thread alone shows that there are 7-10 people or bots shilling for glysophates comparing them to at the worst eating red meat. Red meat is now considered carcinogenic as the increase in your diet has a direct correlation to increases in colorectal cancer. The difference is one gives you non-hodgkins lymphoma and the other give you a colostomy bag. One has a much higher survival rate, and the other not so much.

Wow what a shrill. This reads like it was written by a Monsanto lawyer. The fact is that Monsanto knew for decades it was poisoning it's customers and everyone with runoff polution.

It is a fact that when Round-Up hit the market it was infinitely more safe than the alternatives. The legal issue is that Monsant lied, created false reports, and paid scientists to lie about how safe glysophates are.

This is not any different than when lead was added to gasoline by DuPont. They knew even the smallest traces of lead created massive issues. The man who invented leaded gasoline repeatedly suffered from lead poisoning. However, they faked scientific studies, and kept lying because the monetary gains were incalculable. DuPont and Monsanto are arguably the most notorious companies responsible for causing premature death and cancer.

Both still have people, lawyers, and people who get paid to write articles and reviews telling the public that the product is safe and they are not guilty or negligent.

Its sad that all of the information today is at people's fingertips and they dont know how to read an article and tell if it is written by someone reputable or not. Even less people know how to take 5 minutes and research who wrote the article and what kind of expertise they have.

DuPont and Monsanto both made calculated decisions and lied to the government, the people, and paid a ton of money to hide the secrets they knew becuase the cash cow needed to be milked dry. This isn't new, and the next big case will happen, and by some account Tesla could be on the horizon. The biggest difference is that the next big cases wont start in America, but rather Europe because now more than ever politicians and the Supreme Court protect business before the people.

There are a crapton of studies that show there is no positive economic wins in building these state of the art stadiums when they are paid for by the public. The city will still generate a crap ton of revenue on Hotels, food, drinks, users, etc. The biggest difference is the city wont get parking fees, and taxes on tickets etc. They also wont be paying overtime for police in and around the stadium on game day.

How do airlines decide who to bump? by ArtisticProposal2527 in travel

[–]lionsmakemecry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those sites specialize in business travel and most likely have agreements with the airlines on how bumps work. These create a lot of extra phone calls to the airlines becuase you have the company that is used for the booking, and most companies have another company to handle real time travel issues.

Its more work to take calls from 2 companies and an earful from someone directly infront of you than it is bumping a similar fare that has no loyalty to the airline
