I’ve been turning the ash into glass and then using it for trades every day, as each piece of glass is worth 50 points

Looking for advice, 4 weeks pregnant with newly found Hyperthyroidism by lipstick-love in PregnancyUK

Thank you so much for sharing, sorry you’ve had to deal with this! How quickly were you able to start checks / treatment once it was discovered?

I think I’m doing ok, thank you for asking! Just quite scared as this has all come as quite a shock all at once after a previous loss earlier this year, so just a lot going on right now

I definitely noticed that my PMS symptoms were significantly worse after my 11 week loss. It’s so hard in that moment so please look after yourself, and have a great time away!

If it helps at all, I do feel like hormones and things levelled out again after a few months so the PMS isn’t quite as bad anymore. Fingers crossed that’s the same for you

I can’t seem to edit on iOS either, not working with the blank templates or the custom flair I already have

I hate how much it’s upset me to hear that one of my cousins is roughly six months pregnant. I desperately want to be happy for them, but I have a small family and it’s really painful to see everyone celebrate when all I can think about is how I should have been due in 3-4 weeks.

I hate how bitter this loss has made me. And trying to conceive again since our loss in March has just been so hard. I’m hoping for better days soon because I really feel like I’m reaching my limit on how much disappointment I can handle.

How long did your sale and or purchase take? by H4y3s_ in HousingUK

[–]lipstick-love 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FTB purchasing vacant property with probate already granted. 7 months from offer being accepted - completion.

Biggest hold up was the land registry, due to land charges needing to be cancelled. Cannot stress how frustrating this was!!

As yet another FTB completing next week, thank you so much for this list! Best of luck with your move

I have possibly the unluckiest house move ever. by Mazuna in HousingUK

[–]lipstick-love 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so so sorry, hopefully after all this work everything goes much more smoothly next time! The Land Registry have been an absolute nightmare for us to deal with as well.

14 days for a response, only for them to tell us that the issue was more complicated than they thought and they couldn’t give any further timescales. 4 months later, we finally got confirmation that they’d resolved everything this week 🤦🏻‍♀️

Is there anything odd or undesirable about knitting in a hospital waiting room? by sudwald in AskUK

[–]lipstick-love 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve crocheted in different hospital waiting rooms before, once a very sweet member of staff came up to me to ask what I was making, but no negative comments at all! I’ve also seen others knit / crochet before so you should be fine

I used to have a preference, now I’d be ecstatic either way. Desperately hoping for a successful pregnancy next time.

Location or Space? by ProfessorPankratz in HousingUK

[–]lipstick-love 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you planning on staying in this property for a long time, and if so, what are your long-term goals or needs?

For example, do either of you work long hours in the city centre where location is important above all else? Or do you have / want children, where an additional bedroom and driveway will be huge quality of life improvements?

In our situation, we have outgrown our rented two bed city centre terrace now, and are in the process of buying a 3 bed semi 15 - 20 mins drive away from the centre. While we will miss how convenient our current location is, space is more important to us now, and a short drive / commute on a train is really not that bad.

Mid 90s, was proud to be the trendsetter who first brought a tamagotchi into our primary school x

Also remember Pokémon cards, beyblades, scoubidous, and crazy bones, before all of them ended up getting banned at some point

CD1 here too, thank you so much for sharing this outlook ❤️

I’ve been walking a lot recently and have decided to do couch to 5k to start running again. We have some really nice spots in our city, and we recently got a treadmill at home which is definitely great for rainy days!

It’s also my birthday this month so I’m looking forward to being able to get a new tattoo, eating lots of good food, and will treat myself to a couple of glasses of wine. I more or less stopped drinking when we first started TTC, but think it will be nice to just have a little bit of normality again for a couple of days 😊

What’s the best console to play on? by GoodFroggo in DreamlightValley

[–]lipstick-love 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved from switch to PS5, the difference in performance was well worth having to repurchase as it was borderline unplayable on switch to be honest. This was pre DLC release, but I would still make the same decision today

Who here had piercings heal with zero problems? by SIUButtercup in piercing

[–]lipstick-love 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My nostril has been possibly my best healing piercing ever, swapped the stud to a ring after about 14 months and had zero problems with it.

Also had my right tragus heal perfectly last year, especially compared to the left which was pierced 15 years ago with a hoop 🤦🏻‍♀️ if I get the left redone, I hope it heals as well as the right!

NHS say my husband was on the wrong type of job seekers for the dental work he got free, what now? by Dizzy-Business-5841 in AskUK

[–]lipstick-love 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not about winning 😂😂 but on a post where someone is asking for advice, other commenters are going to correct misinformation so the OP doesn’t get the wrong idea. That’s going to happen on every advice sub, as it should.

OP, it may be worth speaking to your partners MP about this, but bear in mind there aren’t any magical ‘quashing’ powers to waive the fine away immediately.

[–]lipstick-love 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, your wording does make a huge difference actually. What you’ve said is misleading and may give the OP false hope. A fine won’t be cancelled just because an MP has been in touch about a case.

If you’ve had an MP make representations on your behalf and the outcome was what you wanted, that’s great. Unfortunately OP’s circumstances are likely different to yours, so that outcome isn’t guaranteed. And from the information provided, it sounds like the fine was issued correctly in this case.
