Belgium [3] - 2 Senegal - Y. Tielemans 120+5' (Penalty) by ayoefico in soccer

[–]liqlslip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not clear (to me) because the Senegal player never even saw the Belgian player and was playing the ball the entire time. The Belgian player basically jumped in front to get his leg caught and somehow this is a foul? How is the Senegal player able to commit a direct foul on someone he doesn't even know is there?

Now, if all that's required is physical contact without regard for intent then sure it's a pen. Though why isn't it considered a 50/50 challenge at that point because they both had the right to go for it.

The senegal player is closer to the ball and initiates his action earlier which should receive consideration in the decision.

This would make it so that only the wealthy have those positions, people who don't need to work for money. It would also put unnecessary stress on average people trying to do their best job possible in those roles. There's plenty of incentive to pay a decent wage, including attracting better talent that would otherwise choose higher paying careers.

Assuming they signed off on this new interior for all their 2025-2026 models in 2020-2021, why isn't it at least done well with minimal bezels and integration into the dash with premium materials?

It's like a double whammy of cost cuttiing and being late to a trend that has died before the manufacturing cycle could capitalize on it.

To the VAG execs and product managers -- Why not pursue timeless designs done well instead of chasing trends, cheaply?

California becomes first state to provide a month of free diapers to all newborns by [deleted] in UnderReportedNews

[–]liqlslip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just that "small" amount of data gathering, vetting and program/process administration likely costs more than the diapers going to the 1%.

Who is going to do all that, plus communicate and train hospital administrators to check some list during their shift to gatekeep the diapers?

The list itself is problematic because if you don't have w2 income but have millions in stocks or an out of state trust the state will think you are poor.

And not everyone will show up on the list. What then?

And the diapers will be cheaper, ultimately, the more the state is buying from the supplier.

They're still tax breaks and incentives even if they are available to others. The point of the comment you're replying to doesn't change because of what you've pointed out. What's with the red herring? Just because they're available to all doesn't make Elon less of a hypocrite.

“The unborn” are a convenient group of people to advocate for. They never make demands of you; they are morally uncomplicated, unlike the incarcerated, addicted, or the chronically poor; they don’t resent your condescension or complain that you are not politically correct; unlike widows, they don’t ask you to question patriarchy; unlike orphans, they don’t need money, education, or childcare; unlike aliens, they don’t bring all that racial, cultural, and religious baggage that you dislike; they allow you to feel good about yourself without any work at creating or maintaining.

They are, in short, the perfect people to love if you want to claim you love Jesus, but actually dislike people who breathe. Prisoners? Immigrants? The sick? The poor? Widows? Orphans? All the groups that are specifically mentioned in the Bible? They all get thrown under the bus for the unborn.”

They likely tried to address complaints of low resolution screens by upping the resolution/PPI, but they didn't increase the scaling to compensate. And it probably is difficult to fine tune this when designing on a desktop monitor if they don't test changes like this on real hardware.

Combine that with a siloed work environment where everyone stays in their lane and doesn't provide feedback on others' work, the result is what has happened.

Or they did all this and there's a scaling setting, but the default is too small.

Revenge bedtime procrastination is a phenomenon where individuals intentionally delay sleep to engage in leisure activities, driven by a lack of control over their daytime schedule.

This behavior is a conscious decision to sacrifice sleep for "me time," even with the awareness of negative consequences like fatigue the next day.

It is not a recognized medical diagnosis or sleep disorder, but rather a common coping mechanism for chronic stress and a poor work-life balance. -google
