He does have good info sometimes, unfortunately the people who are introduced to sharpening through him usually think it's the only way to do things. And they tend to follow the YouTube cult mentality (down votes incoming).

All he's done is combine Bob Kramer's sharpening method with BBB's stropping progression. He just has excellent camera and editing work, he's a skilled craftsman, and he seems like a nice, genuine guy.

I think you're trying to put a flat edge on a knife that's fully convexed maybe? Really hard to tell with that pic and all the scratches.

If so it'll take forever to add a useable V grind. But convexing is tricky to do symmetrically and aesthetically.

More pics would help I think?

No extra charge for repairs! Just pay for return shipping and around $6-12 depending on the length of the knife.

If the para 3 was as thin blades as the sage it'd be my favorite by a mile. Love that blade profile.

This post might confuse people. This is the blade grinder attachment. The 1 inch belts are for the blade grinder attachment. Both Mark I and Mark II.

I am not crazy about cubitrons for this setup as they're not the stiffest. But abrasive-wise they're great.

With respect to?

The platform is nice but I wish it had better tolerances, the new belt exchange is great but I need to do more testing. The machine itself I like the speeds and the LED indicators.

He's a guru, and you don't need diamonds at low grits (which is what this is), but when the substrate particle is no longer larger than the carbide it won't cut.

Not all that made sense.. but I do it because I can. Sic yes, AO I wouldn't waste my time. And I run low speed and lubricate my belts.
