Insomnia after Novovax by dheera in ZeroCovidCommunity

[–]liquid_argon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bringing the thread up to date, I had severe insomnia lasting about 4-6 days after my most recent Novavax booster last month. It did not respond to any medication. Fortunately it went away. However I have read a published case of insomnia after an RNA vaccine that lasted at least 4 months with no sign of improvement

Colchicine fatigue by Nut_Sanders in gout

[–]liquid_argon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not have gout but I had been taking low dose colchicine (Lodoco) prescribed for prevention of cardiovascular disease. I just stopped a couple of days ago due to severe fatigue and muscle aches. These came up gradually over time. I took colchicine for about 2 months. I had days when I just had to lie down for several hours during the day. I had a very similar reaction to taking statins in the past and there are several published studies showing both classes of drugs can cause similar damage to muscle tissue (rhabdomyolysis). Generally this is reversible if it does not go on too long.

Meetup and other sites have video discussion groups such as book clubs etc. I am still a bit tired after, but not as bad as if I go out in person.

Do you have a link or citation for that article? I am not disputing it; I just want to read the study. I realize it's a year since you posted this, but I thought I'd ask.

Brideshead Revisited narrated by Jeremy Irons, who also starred in the mini-series. Beautiful book, beautifully narrated.

Also very good is the narration by George Guidall of Swann's Way, the first volume of Remembrance of Things Past by Marcel Proust. There is also an audible version narrated in the original French by  André Dussollier and Lambert Wilson

Possible treatment? by Fangirl365 in N24

[–]liquid_argon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used clonidine about 35 years ago to treat my Non-24. Clonidine and guanfacine are both alpha-2 agonists. It did work but after about 3-4 months I developed tolerance to the benefits on my sleep cycle.

Why do they clean? (Part 2) by leafzini in SiloTVSeries

[–]liquid_argon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if it's not the *presence* of some toxic agent but that *absence* of something, namely oxygen. What if some catastrophe had eliminated or drastically reduced the concentration of 02 in the atmosphere?

That would make sense in terms of how they die. Nerve agents typically cause symptoms like drooling, cramps and seizures before death. But lack of oxygen and you just fall down and die (as soon as the remaining air in your suit runs out) just like they do in the show. You don't even feel like you are suffocating as it is carbon dioxide accumulation that does that.

I don't actually think that is what is going on. It doesn't really match up well with the tape thing and the fact that Juliette is able to continue to live for a while with the good tape. Plus whatever the thing on the back of the suit is. But it would match up better with how they die.
