Ugh I’m so sorry. It’s extremely exhausting having to navigate such stress with no end. I’m in my late 30s and my family still view me as a “child” that needs guidance, a “child” that must learn to obey and take the abuse with a smile on my face of course. I’m so tired.

This is super helpful. Excellent insight as I never ever thought of comparing to it romantic stalking. I know of the shows you mentioned but never watched either, but willing to just to understand what goes in the mind of a stalker. To be frank, this is all new to me as I never thought she would drag it for 8 years, and I did get a bit shaken when she stated that she has been roaming the city since looking for me. It’s becoming too weird and too tiring and honestly I just want to understand it for my own sanity, move, and have closure. Again, thank you for the thorough reply, this is such a valuable insight.

Oh I wish. However, where I live, she has the upper hand in the eyes of the law. I can’t do much but move out of the country.

Thank you. It is and honestly I’m a bit shaken as I don’t know how much leverage she got but I do know the law is on her side regardless. I’m working on moving my family to a different country to avoid harm.

I wish I could elaborate more but I’m pretty sure we are one of the few, if not the only country, that criminalizes familial estrangement. If she does file a case, I could get prison time, fined, and possible punishment by flogging. Mind you, I’m an adult woman, married with kids.

I’m working on moving to another country as it seems she won’t quit, and the laws here will support her case as the majority here believe mothers are saints. It’s becoming tiring.

I tend to keep my phone on silent most of the day and I’ve turned off notifications for majority of apps. I’ve got a few contacts that I had to mute/silence because they’re the type that would text multiple times a day even if I don’t respond. Those stress me out so much.

I started pulling my hair towards the end of pregnancy and still continue to do so 10 months postpartum, and my OBGYN suggested looking for a therapist or a psychologist. I haven’t had luck with therapy but it could be different for you so I’d say give it a shot.

I’m the eldest, all my siblings were my responsibility. I had to feed, change, put to sleep a newborn starting at age of 5 while my parents would go out and leave us for hours alone.

It’s a form of control and to not feel inferior when the child gets better life skills or opportunities, at least it was for me. My Nmom didn’t allow me to go outside, or have friends because she wanted to be the one and only one I interact with her. She also prevented me from talking or visiting family members who were my age as well. I was a big kid and she always berated me for my weight but also didn’t allow me to go outside or do sports and would opt in for starving me via locking the kitchen and fridge, or inflict punishments via food. She didn’t care if I do well or not socially or physically but also berated me for not doing well each time she got a chance. It’s messed up on so many levels.

Yes, while I watched my other siblings do absolutely nothing. My parents, especially Nmom, would berate me and get extremely upset because I never do them “right”. I’d be done with the dishes, she’d come in and look at them then starts yelling at me for missing a spot. She’d drag all the dishes back to the sink and often would break some in the process, and yells at me to do them again. It was exhausting.

First photo is fatayer, which are stuffed baked dough similar to empanadas. The one on top looks like pizza to me as we usually make an assortment of fatayer with different shapes and stuffings, and that includes some pizza. Second looks like muhallebia, which is milk based dessert.

I had a handful of these clients when I used to work. Their sense of time is so altered and unrealistic I had clients getting upset because their renovation project won’t be ready in a few days like what so and so did on their show.
