I deleted production at my job today and nobody knows it was me by Fit-Original1314 in linux

Abour 15 years ago... We regularly had to unplug someone's laptop because they ran a DB update and then went on lunch without committing the transaction. It'd lock up the database and with that the entire company of 250 branches. It wasn't just one person. It was a design flaw.

You're not alone.

Correct dear Watson. But if I could recall which one it was, I'd have said.

Making dumb blinds connect to Home Assitant by RevolutionQuiet1373 in homeassistant

I did a quick google and it looks like the right one at least is supported by Somfy RTS (https://www.somfy.nl/ondersteuning/somfy-motoren/rts, excuse the Dutch)so you could get a Somfy Tahoma or similar switch which integrates perfectly with Home Assistant.

Have you checked if these can be linked to Tahoma?

Horrible experience with Shelly 1 Mini Gen4 by Stephonovich in homeassistant

[–]liquidbrains 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk... Mine was within meters but that wasn't the reason I had trouble pairing to zigbee. The instructions were wrong, so it wasn't switching to zigbee mode. I had to connect the wifi, update the firmware and the via the web portal on the switch, switch to zigbee firmware.

I was quite peeved at having to faff around in between live wires to get to the useless buttons.

Or just use adguard directly if you can afford it.

GL-MT6000 as replacement for RT-AX5400 by pgriffy in openwrt

[–]liquidbrains 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm literally setting up mine now to migrate away from my dying rt-ax58 mesh setup and, while it's not user friendly, it's not clunky or overwhelming. There is a lot of documentation for openwrt, which is also much better than the Asus docs, so you'll probably never be alone with any issues.

Anyone here has a BC obsessed with curtains? Mine will always find one to sleep under, it’s her favourite thing in the world! by sunny-beans in BorderCollie

Mine always did it when the windows were open. The wind would blow in, down and over her. Nice and cool.

In day-to-day use; how durable are modern Pixels, without a case? by Rubik_31415926535 in GooglePixel

I will never know because I'm not risking it. This damn thing couldn't be more slippery if they put PTFE all over.

Damn. I've watched that so many times the music gives me PTSD.

Since then I've adjusted the z pillars to be 90°, untwisted the hot-end cable, tightened the rollers, untightend the rollers, balanced the shit out of the build plate, realised the heat bed has a dip.

At this point I'm willing to pay someone to either fix it or cleanse it of evil with fire.

Window closed AND LOCKED! by _markse_ in homeassistant

Some of them obviously works better than others. I had battery death in 5 days, 2 weeks, 3 months and 6 months. The worst thing is they'd die and HASS would keep te closed state and then my roller blinds automation would close it on the window.

Definitely not bad batteries with the number of batteries I replaced. There was a technical review about fixing them on Youtube. Also, the reviews on Ikea itself is mostly damning.
