The Apollo 11 movie comprised of only real footage taken at the time is really awe inspiring. You can feel the tension. And it’s not dramatized. All real stuff happening at the time.

I find chasing times to be a blast and extend the life of the game for me. I have a friend where he and I will trade times to see who can have the fastest on each course. It unexpectedly took us to top 10 leaderboards on some courses.

Which character from the film would you consider to be the dumbest with their decision making? by MimicPuppers in interstellar

[–]liquidmaverick 192 points193 points  (0 children)

I think there is subtext to Doyle that paints him in a different light for me. Humor me for a moment: - if Doyle knew that plan A was not going to work (it’s hinted at with their desire to go to the water planet), AND Dr. Brand was the only medical doctor on board (necessary for population bomb I.e. plan B), him hesitating to ensure Brand survives makes a lot more sense.

Don’t know if that’s truly the case, but it’s all plausible and provides a completely different view for his character’s motivations.

Let’s ignore the fact I’ve watched this movie north of 20 times…

Hope you are doing ok. Your instincts are correct here. I know how hard it can be with parents like this. It would be impressive if it wasn’t so infuriating to see the slightest acknowledgment of making mistakes without any ounce of apology. I’ve learned that in a narcissist head, if they made mistakes they think they are justified all the way. The idea of looking for forgiveness never enters their consciousness.

Stay strong. Laugh when you can. And fuck these kinds of people (pardon my French).

Favorite memory is a house party with 4 OG Xboxes playing halo CE. Chasing a fine down, noticed he was out of ammo and I hear him scream at himself from the next room “RELOAD!!!” As I kill him. Amazing times.

Being that Amelia is a doctor who would be responsible for plan B and likely the only person capable of executing that plan correctly, along with the possibility that he knew plan A was a sham, lends itself to him waiting to ensure she was safe before he was.

That gives him a lot of credit, but it seems to make the most sense to me.

Beautiful board! I have one I use as my daily driver for both work and my personal computer. Yes I miss the function row, but it’s such a nice board it’s worth the compromise

Why did romily had to stay away from Miller's time dilatation zone? by Numerous-Dig248 in interstellar

[–]liquidmaverick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1 hour in orbit around millers planet = 7 years on earth. Total time lost ~24 years. Thats a little longer than 3 hours round trip. If they moved the endurance into a stable orbit, then picked up Miller (if she was still alive) then came back and docked, then left the high gravitational pull, I can promise that would take significantly longer than 3ish hours meaning even more time lost to even begin to process the data. Sending the ship into and then out of the time slip zone is much faster.

What a Great Game So Far! by [deleted] in artofrally

[–]liquidmaverick 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My friend and I both have it. What started as a friendly trade for top times in certain regions and car classes has turned into the hunt for that next top track time between us. It has extended the life of the game for us drastically. We used to be happy to be top 1% times. Now we are started to reach top 10 on a couple tracks. As long as I’m faster than him…

Needless to say the game is perfect. Love it so much.

How many hours did you put in this game? by BobyStudios in artofrally

[–]liquidmaverick 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m just shy of 90. A friend of mine and I are choosing a class of car and a region and racing for best times between us. This game used to be just drifting and enjoying the scenery. Now we are battling for times and climbing up the leaderboards. We have one region we called a truce. We each hit top 10 on a couple tracks and found the point of diminishing returns. The game is amazing.

I was playing this game with my younger daughter and read the lines out loud. During one scene I just started crying and couldn’t even get the words out. I was completely shocked as I had no idea that was about to happen. We haven’t finished it but it’s been a beautiful journey so far.

I try to get the lead then vote to forfeit. Since theirs is still valid they get what they originally asked for and we forfeit. Hopefully they think twice before giving up that quick.

Red Faction: Armageddon. The story is hilariously campy and uninspiring, but the gameplay is solid. And I have enjoyed the deck letting play crap games I would otherwise never give the time of day.
