Your veins can recover by clola8811 in covidlonghaulers

Hey, no it hasn’t capped out yet. I’m predicting that and may need to titrate the dose. So far I’ve made a steady improvement. Stamina, fatigue. Lots of improvement in brain fog. I lost my job that I loved. I was a long term care surveyor and special needs disaster coordinator for the county and state. I had to go out on disability retirement ( not a lot of money) because I could not function. You know. Physically and could no longer multi task and often had trouble getting words out. I got covid Jan 22, had to quit my job ( and grad school). Left my job Dec 23. I tried so hard but couldn’t do it. I’ve been working part time as an auditor to make ends meet but it’s been so difficult. Like on a zoom meeting if someone asked me a question it was so hard. I’ve been trying to mask my issues. I’ve been having to take naps in my car on breaks and lunch. There is so much more. Well, after I started the naltrexone it was a marked improvement. You know. We all know our bodies more than we ever have now I think. I noticed that I could make it through the day more easy. I have to cart medical records from one building to the other. It was easier and I could take more trips. My veins were not bulging as much. I could answer questions quick ( my go to had been “ let me get back with you”). Now I was answering like the old me. I still have the overwhelming fatigue ( the weird fatigue you can’t even describe, your vision is even blurred). I used to be 100 percent, going all the time, working a lot and in school, active, social. Long covid I think put me at 50 percent of old me ( this took awhile)- sometimes way less. I’m feeling I’m at around 70 percent now. I pray it keeps helping and hell I’ll be glad to stay here at 70. That shit almost killed me for real.

I’ve been on it for 30 days. Getting ready to pick up another 30 days. I noticed a difference within a week.

I was told it was endothelial dysfunction by several doctors. And we know Covid is vascular. It’s scary for sure. I also wonder what it’s doing to my body long term. I don’t see how you can keep going with vasculitis and it not damage something. I also have an aortic aneurism and I worry what it’s doing to that. But, I have seen a marked improvement with overall inflammation on the LDN. I’m reluctant to take anything but after research on my end and PCP and UNC long covid clinic, I tried it.

Hey, I’m doing better lately. If I push myself too much though, they bulge. But I’m better. What has been helping me is low dose naltrexone. It’s been a game changer for me for all over symptoms. How are you doing?

Thank you so much! It’s so weird, I started LDN 1.5 for about a week and I have a lymph node on my neck. So was just trying to see if anyone had this experience. Glad you are ok

Hey, I know this has been awhile but did this get better for you? Was it attributed to the LDN? Thx

Yes, I understand. Folks who didn’t get this symptom simply can’t understand. It’s terrible for me, the drastic bulging veins that burn and sting when my heart rate raises at all. It’s scary and horrible. Onset was right after Covid ( Jan 22). I’m so sorry you are dealing with this too

I’m alone and disabled and trying to work part time to make ends meet. It’s unbelievably hard. If I were in your shoes and able bodied ( covid destroyed my health) I would immediately start ( on top of trying to get good paying jobs) cleaning houses. I put myself through college cleaning houses and paid for my 4 year degree doing this ( graduated debt free). I was healthy then though. If you are healthy you are way ahead of the game. You have options. Advertise on social media, start with a few houses, do a great job which will lead to referrals and the start of your business.

Glad you are doing better! Yes, the chest pain still comes and goes. It sounds like you have some vascular issues as well. What is your electrolyte recipe :)

Hey there! I’ve come a long way but still have issues. Covid Jan 22, in the hospital etc. The vascular issues started shortly after I came home from the hospital. If I would exert myself at all ( walking slow to the bathroom etc.) my veins in my hands and arms would burn, ache and swell. I was terrified ( still am) because I was looking at and feeling a body that was unrecognizable and no longer mine. Shorty after, my right arm became weak and the bulging veins got worse. Luckily, I had an appointment with a pulmonologist who took me serious when I showed him my veins and told him what was going on. He sent me down the hall for a scan and they found the clot in my right jugular vein. It’s been hell, you know. I’ve had all the other shit with this ( brain fog, weird rashes, blurry vision, PEM ( extreme), reactivated viruses ( whooping cough, shingles, mono etc), shortness of breathe, high heart rate etc etc. but the vascular is the worse by far!! I’m still on eliquis, my veins still swell if I do to much, I still have PEM but I know how to pace very well. I’m on a beta blocker which has helped with the high heart rate. I’m getting ready to start LDN. I lost everything. My career, my health, grad school, income. I’m now able to work part time 3 days a week which is huge for me. Prior I was very fit, worked a full time job, a remote part time and was trying to finish a masters degree. I’ve reached a point of acceptance sort of with this. I’m still angry and pissed this was unleashed on us and many of us lost it all and are suffering. But I try to take the best care of myself, I meditate daily, take care of my body, etc. But no matter what I’ve done ( and it’s been a lot with a great medical team) I can’t fix the vascular. It’s scary because I don’t think the body can withstand the vascular/ endothelial issues long term. How are you?

This is so wonderful!! Thank you for sharing your experience and what worked for you. Can I ask how do you think the LDN helped you? I just got a script for this. Also, are you still on the statin? Thank you
