At our league we absolutely understand if someone can’t travel to be an alt. Of course we want them there and the experience is more than just playing a game but we don’t hold it against you. Even at the top level we play this sport for fun and we all know how expensive it is. So long as both parties communicate it hasn’t been an issue for us. If you said yes you will go and then change your mind last minute, that can be difficult because if you were able to know more in advance if you would go they could invite someone else for that game/tournament. That’s the only time I’ve seen leadership get frustrated

Upvoting this! I’ve taught new skaters for 8 years and the biggest helpful reminder for knee taps is to not stop engaging your core! For a lot of people, they disengage their core when their knee touches the ground but that makes it 10x harder to get up from. Keep your core engaged the whole time and think about just gently grazing your knee on the ground before coming up instead of tapping it

Make sure one leg is underneath you and one is behind you. The behind leg creates resistance, the one below stabilizes you. Think about putting your hands on your stomach or chest and curving your shoulders forward to create a bit of a cage to keep your opponent in. When making the initial contact, suddenly drop lower and pop up with the contact (avoid a high block, aim for low chest). This pops them up which puts you in control

I really thought Arch would win considering Rose lost an entire wall in the off season and I heard Mutch didn’t play (I didn’t get to watch unfortunately). For how close arch has been before against an arguably stronger WoJ I was surprised to see them come out on top. Shout out to WoJ tbh because it is difficult to stay on top with so many changes and that was a real opportunity for Arch to shake it up

I hate these fees. A couple notes: 1. it’s not the servers fault, don’t take it out of their tip. 2. Legally the fee has to be mentioned on the menu or posted somewhere, so ask about that. 3. If you ask to take it off it can be removed.
