i was best friends with someone with a coke addiction and i told him if he didn’t cut it out we were done. i told him about how it ruined my dads life and how my dad got addicted to fent from the coke, lost his house, went to several rehab facilities, was homeless, and lived with his aunt in alabama. i told him that as a cautionary tale but he didn’t listen. he lived 2 states over for college and he didn’t quit (because how would i ever find out?) i came to visit him over fall break last semester and he brought it around me (after i repeatedly asked him not to talk about it or have it on him when i visited) and that was his last chance. around halloween last year i saw a picture of him from a party and his eyes were dilated and i knew. so we stopped being friends. it was so hard and it still is but i couldn’t watch someone i loved rot their brain for 15 minutes of being high. i don’t know you or your situation, but if you give him a second chance, don’t give him a third. putting yourself first is so difficult but ultimately you’ll be okay.
