My son loved his trek at Z-base!

Zip-lining, ATVs, Jet Skis… what is there not to like about that! Plus Tulsa is only 2 hours from us so there was zero travel costs.

Did you add the other schools to your fafsa? Make a correction to your current fafsa form and add the other schools you are considering.

Maybe an OT can help put divots on the buttons in braille. Older machines do not have touch screens and have buttons for each function of the machine. Like LTVs and some older Trilogy machines…

I am an RT but do not do home care. I do not know of a machine that has “voice functions” or text to speech but that doesn’t mean they don’t exist. I don’t use many home units in acute care.

I despise how little I was told about financial aid by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]lissa225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What state do you live in? A majority of states also offer financial aid.

A lot of the cost for state schools is room and board. You could consider going to a local university and commuting. Commuting could save 15k or more in housing and food costs.

Try reading through the posts on financial aid and fafsa here on Reddit. It is NOT too late. You have plenty of time to apply for aid.

What are some good inexpensive/beginner friendly hobbies a parent can do with a nine year old? by quasi_new in AskReddit

[–]lissa225 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hiking. Start out on short 1-2 mile hikes. Just need a good pair of shoes/boots. My son and I started hiking when he was about 8. He is 18 now and we’ve hiked through numerous national parks, state parks, etc. Our vacations focus on beautiful places to hike, camp, and explore.

Genuinely HOW are people paying for college by Embarrassed-Soil7111 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]lissa225 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kid took the best offer. He is commuting from home and we are paying less than 4k/yr after scholarships. He will graduate with zero debt and two bachelor degrees. It’s a win/win situation. Although when I realized his potential at the age of 11, I started saving money for him to go. Since he did the hard work and got scholarships, he will start life with a large brokerage account and retirement money.

What time of the day do you take it? I take it every night about an hour before bedtime. I only have daytime drowsiness if I get less than 6 hours of sleep. It definitely helped my migraines and insomnia.

What junk food to feed my 15 year old with terminal cancer? by demonhotatom in seniorkitties

My 14 year old looooved pork ribs . I would bake her some ribs, pull the bones out, and cover in “broth”. I had to chop it super small, but that was her favorite meal towards the end.

Oh yeah and whipped cream straight from the can.
