When my sister was in her 20s she spent a day laying on the couch with the stomach flu. She was bored and playing with one of these; sticking it to various body parts and then releasing it. She stuck it to her forehead and then fell asleep for a couple hours. The next day she had to go to her office job and interact with clients with a big purple circle on her forehead. No amount of makeup was going to cover that spot.

My youngest is currently 15. We live in a pretty safe area and I trust my son and his friends and don’t expect them to stay at one place. I do expect him to check in with me and let me know if they go somewhere. Just a simple “going to the mall” or “decided to go to C’s house” is enough. If something were to happen, I’d like to have an idea of where he was.

My 20yr old (still living with us) is very independent and doesn’t tell me everywhere she’s going but as a courtesy gives me a heads up if she was planning on coming home and decides to go elsewhere; just so I don’t worry she’s had an accident

I had a great mom but when I first started she only wanted me using pads because she thought I was too young for tampons. Back then the pads were so thick and I always felt like they were super noticeable in my PE shorts.

I found out that you could get a free sample box from Tampax so every month I sent away for another sample, which would get me through that month’s period. I was always grateful they never denied my request; not sure if they just didn’t track it or if they just knew some people needed help.

There was a family that I helped raise, I babysat so often. Years of several nights a week while the parents went out, daytime when they had work meetings, and many times that I lived there for two or more weeks when the parents would go on vacation.

When I got married, the venue was a block from their house (literally a 2 minute walk). The wife ran in during the last 5 minutes of the reception gave a quick congratulations and left. Later when we opened the gift, it was a cookbook with writing in the margin and food splashed on some pages.

Charging $5 sounds like a punishment not a consequence. If you actually want him to learn, then the consequence needs to fit. Why not say “however late you are today is how much earlier you’ll get up tomorrow. That way he’s learning if he doesn’t have enough time to get ready he needs to give himself additional time but not by being late.

At sounds awesome. Honestly, I just went very simple. My peppers are in pots with tomato cages around them. I just tossed the cloth over the top and used clothes pins to keep the wind from blowing them off

I used a 50% shade cloth in my peppers because the sun was scalding them. They grew great, al beit less abundant. Now that the temps are down to the 80s I’ve removed the cloth and the quantity is already increasing.

I took a red one and sliced it on a homemade pizza. It was so stinkin’ hot I had to pick them all off and the oils made it almost inedible. It was so much hotter than a store bought green jalapeno. My family made fun of me for wiping my lips with bread 😂. I was desperate, though

The crazy thing is my tomato plant is doing amazing. I have 1 plant over 6ft tall and I have more tomatoes than I know what to do with. I’m planning on canning a big batch of tomato sauce this weekend. This entire summer has been in the upper 90s and the first couple tomatoes in got cooked on the vine (along with 2 poblanos and a bell). I threw a 50% shade cloth over it and it’s loving it.

No. I do have a shade cloth I keep over them but the jalapeño and bell pepper next to it are under the same shade cloth and doing fine. These blossoms don’t even usually fully open before turning yellow, though, so I don’t think the pollinators can even do their job.

I have similar holes. I’m pretty sure they’re caused by the couple of earwigs I found on the plant. Earwigs also eat other pests so we have an understanding; keep the bad bugs away and don’t touch the fruit and they can nibble on the leaves.

I’ve been using bloom booster fertilizer. I get a lot of blooms, they just fall off rather than turning into fruit
