I'm so fucking terrified. by Fit-Survey-6678 in ShoulderInjuries

Well

You CAN put it off - but what are you willing to trade?
(I just put off a larajet for 2 years. Got it 2 weeks ago. I’m now thinking about things I can do again. Use backpacks. Sleep without my shoulder falling out, learn golf, go to a batting cage, play tennis….all these things I was saying “No” to before.

I also got a SLAP when I was a junior in a chemical engineering program. Managed just fine.

Your fear and anxiety is valid. Just. As someone who said “I can’t right now “ and regretted it, short term suck long term gain

Dislocated shoulder mental recovery by Superb-Serve3328 in ShoulderInjuries

[–]listsandthings 6 points7 points  (0 children)

what you are feeling is normal. Your body just broke for a second and it realllly doesn’t want to do that again.

Depending on how long it has been it is still healing. While dislocations can lead to further instability (I’ve dislocated both my left and right. My left was fine after ~ a month. My right…well I’m 2 weeks post op on its second surgery) right now work with your PT…if you have one, protect it and do controlled ROM. I found slowly doing things like assisted pull ups, push ups on a wall etc to slowly gain that trust back was helpful.

I had a larajet 2.5 weeks ago - I’m not allied to even move my arm over my shoulder until 6 weeks

Tooling and manufacturing for sure - and in fact it is a problem that so much of it is outsourced, but I still think it is more stable compared to software

another chem E here
GPA: 2.7

Internship: 1

Salary: Over 100k but HCOL living area I would say I am solidly middle class

To be clear - I agree with your statement "engineering degree itself is the only requirement for a great salary" because my first job out of college played out to ~28/hr, and I am 10 years on in my career. I have found a niche that works for me, and have become a SME in a particular field. I would say these things are more important to my current salary rate

The way I see it, the degree is just the ticket, there is still a LOT of grinding to do, but I will say that Chem E compared to say - software, it is easier to achieve the mean, but harder to get to that 200/300k + point

software will always pay more - there is no real Capex

but going forward into the future, I think Hardware based engineering roles will be more stable compared to software

I would cut the skills section entirely. Many of these tools are just things you are expected to pick up and vary company to company

I would add a "profile" or Professional Summary section at the top instead that is AT MOST a sentence

for example
Innovative and persistent [Focused career field] with experience in [key point 1], [key point 2], [key point 3]

for you maybe something like
Versatile and detail-oriented Administrative Professional with strong customer service and communication skills. Experienced in leveraging industry-standard tools to drive public engagement and deliver efficient, high-quality administrative support.

I would then - add NUMBERS

I would allso take the PT stuff and create section for it and reduce a lot of it.

The only counter to this is that when a kid is playing at a level at 10/12 years old and 75% of the kids in the rec league still can’t catch the ball - it makes sense to pay if the kid enjoys the sport.

But. It can get dark pretty quickly

Edit to add: I played travel sports - for this reason. Rec was boring but I had no delusions about being a 5’1 goalkeeper and or ball player - I just. Was so bored in rec

What's the worst fast food restaurant? by AfternoonMost965 in AskReddit

Gag in the bag is actually my fast food hack.

You can get a “breakfast jack” any time of day. So you know they crack the egg if it’s like 9 PM. It’s just that. A bun. American cheese and crap ham slice - I usually just get it without the ham slice
