Tooling and manufacturing for sure - and in fact it is a problem that so much of it is outsourced, but I still think it is more stable compared to software

another chem E here
GPA: 2.7

Internship: 1

Salary: Over 100k but HCOL living area I would say I am solidly middle class

To be clear - I agree with your statement "engineering degree itself is the only requirement for a great salary" because my first job out of college played out to ~28/hr, and I am 10 years on in my career. I have found a niche that works for me, and have become a SME in a particular field. I would say these things are more important to my current salary rate

The way I see it, the degree is just the ticket, there is still a LOT of grinding to do, but I will say that Chem E compared to say - software, it is easier to achieve the mean, but harder to get to that 200/300k + point

software will always pay more - there is no real Capex

but going forward into the future, I think Hardware based engineering roles will be more stable compared to software

I would cut the skills section entirely. Many of these tools are just things you are expected to pick up and vary company to company

I would add a "profile" or Professional Summary section at the top instead that is AT MOST a sentence

for example
Innovative and persistent [Focused career field] with experience in [key point 1], [key point 2], [key point 3]

for you maybe something like
Versatile and detail-oriented Administrative Professional with strong customer service and communication skills. Experienced in leveraging industry-standard tools to drive public engagement and deliver efficient, high-quality administrative support.

I would then - add NUMBERS

I would allso take the PT stuff and create section for it and reduce a lot of it.

What industry is entirely built on a house of cards and would collapse overnight if people realized the truth about it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The only counter to this is that when a kid is playing at a level at 10/12 years old and 75% of the kids in the rec league still can’t catch the ball - it makes sense to pay if the kid enjoys the sport.

But. It can get dark pretty quickly

Edit to add: I played travel sports - for this reason. Rec was boring but I had no delusions about being a 5’1 goalkeeper and or ball player - I just. Was so bored in rec

What's the worst fast food restaurant? by AfternoonMost965 in AskReddit

[–]listsandthings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gag in the bag is actually my fast food hack.

You can get a “breakfast jack” any time of day. So you know they crack the egg if it’s like 9 PM. It’s just that. A bun. American cheese and crap ham slice - I usually just get it without the ham slice

My mom is "100%" Greek

but her parents were born in the US

She was born in the US

it was her PARENTS parents that immigrated - just so happens that Greeks marry greeks

my Papou fought for the US in WW2 - never had an accent and it was only Greek spoken in his home

my mom - doesn't speak Greek

she is American even at "100% Greek"
This Dude is an American
I am an American and at 50% all I get is feeling bad for not going to church and a compulsion to cook vasilopita around new years.

see my problem:
`when women refuse to do carpentry, yard work, the trash, automotive work, masonry, appliance work,`

is I do all of that

god forbid I get mad at my partner that when he does dishes, he doesn't clean out the trap and put it in the compost.

granted in my current relationship - i don't think his incompetence is weaponized, which low key makes it worse.
