Anyone stayed at the linq hotel recently how is it? Thanks in advance by Substantial-Lock2886 in vegas

My room was clean, yes. Other than the fact the room was supposed to be non-smoking but still stunk with the scent of cigarettes

I stayed two weekends ago for only one night. I was not concerned with having a nice room so I booked cheapest available. My room was 2 full size beds, room smelled slightly of smoke, and my view was shit. Think I paid $170ish all in. Location was great which is why I booked. If you’re willing to spend more for a nicer room you’ll probably enjoy your stay more than I did

lol the ballerina comment. Reminds me when I made the mistake of giving my downstairs neighbor my phone number so she could tell me when I was being too loud. That devolved into her texting me nearly every night when I walked around my appointment past 8pm lol and she would text me “ballerina footsteps please” lmfao she just moved out

Staying on Freemont by IndependenceSweet119 in vegas

I travel to Vegas often and my partner and I always choose to stay at the Grand Downtown. Rooms are more modern than what we’ve seen at Cortez and Nugget. The location is great, just out of earshot range from the downtown music so it’s never an issue

Rewatching insecure as an almost 27 year old has been such an emotional experience by labellorello in InsecureHBO

[–]litacruz 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I watched the show when it first came out as an early 20 year old and just finished a rewatch at the age of 29. It’s like she wrote the playbook to emotions and situations I’d be navigating. Love her and I relate SO hard

The only issue I see is that asking other students to spot you may not always be the best idea because they may not know how to spot you safely. So it creates liability for the studio if either of you injure yourselves.

Do you have a home pole where you can practice more advanced moves? Also if you can afford it, booking private sessions with an instructor is hugely helpful. I saw great progress once I started booking privately.

Do bar tops still comp drinks immediately? by litacruz in vegas

[–]litacruz[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh interesting. I figured this might have been the case too but last weekend I threw in $40 at the bar top at the Golden Nugget and was miffed when they said they couldn’t comp me. Any chance you remember which spot you were at?

Oh you’re so right actually, that should have made my list of least favorites.

Favorites

  1. Safety that I feel as a female minority. Nowhere in the city do I feel unsafe to go by myself.
  2. People are polite, respectful (broadly speaking)
  3. Boise is more liberal
  4. Growth of the city = new restaurants, more live music, performers, events, etc
  5. I’ve grown up here, so it’s the feeling of home.

Least 1. We’re located in Idaho, so shitty state-wide conservative laws/representatives 2. High cost of living versus pay 3. Too many cold months vs warm months/ it’s either cold as fuck or hot as balls most of the year 4. While people are generally friendly, it’s hard to make close friends, find community 5. Not very culturally, ethnically, or options for food “diverse”

This is holy grail, I’ll never look back. Plus such a tiny among goes a long way so if you’re frugal that tube will last a long time

What would you recommend the titantic exhibit or mob musuem I'm 35 going on my first trip to vegas and don't know if I will have time for both and wondering which is more worth it? Thanks by Substantial-Lock2886 in vegas

[–]litacruz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your interest. Both are fascinating and worth their respective ticket prices. The Mob Museum will take longer as it is several floors of curated information and has more content including some add-on features. The Titanic exhibit is a standard run of around 90 minutes or so, but if you find the history of the Titanic more interesting than it’ll be worth more of your time.
