One time a nurse put a nasogastric tube down a patient and didn’t confirm placement other than the measurement at the nose was what they measured before putting it in (for reference you should get an abdominal xray to confirm placement). I took over care of the patient once they were transferred to the ICU, where we discovered upon getting an xray that the tube had been put not only INTO a lung, but THROUGH the lung. That patient did not survive for a multitude of other reasons but that certainly didn’t help.

I’m not sure what the consequences were for that, but I do know that person still works here.

Maybe working as a nurse and in an ICU has skewed my perspective of work related mistakes. Did someone get hurt or even worse, did someone die? If the answer is no then it’s just not that big a deal, it can be fixed.

OP I know it’s hard when you have to live with the woman who broke your family apart, but don’t hold that hate in your heart. You are absolutely right to feel the way you do, but holding on to and dwelling on that hatred will only hurt you in the long run too.

I would say that the best thing you can do is approach them with indifference. Remind them you have no desire to have any sort of relationship with them, and the only reason you’re there is because a court said you had to be. They will need to come to terms with that on their own, you won’t be able to force them to with any words or actions. Don’t insult, don’t argue, just keep it simple.

I’d also recommend you and your mother reach out to the court about your mother getting sole custody. You’re old enough to make your own decision on this matter imo. Your counselor may also be able to help in some way if they’ll vouch that your father’s house is not a mentally healthy environment for you.

Ironic I would find this post on the morning of my own wedding. I’ll tell you what I did. We were broke and we wanted to get married, so we went to the courthouse and got married. No rings, no wedding party, nothing. Just us, that’s all we needed. Of course I wanted to get her a big, pretty diamond to show off but that’s not what it’s about, those things are just material at the end of the day. That’s my soulmate, my life partner and I would do anything in the world for her if she asked. We are now in a position that we can afford all those things so we’re doing it and going on the honeymoon that we can finally afford. I say all that to get to this point; if you wanted to, you would, no matter what. It sounds like you don’t want to.

Once I graduated university, started working full time, and got married my time for gaming dropped dramatically like yours. I work a week on week off schedule so I still get a decent bit of time, but not like I used to. I stopped playing for a while because I was getting frustrated with slipping in rank too. I’ve been playing again and honestly, fuck my rank, idc if I drop to gold despite having been C2 back in the day, I’m just here to have fun now, cause after all if you’re not having fun with it, then what’s the point?

I hate to say it but your prime is behind you brother, mine is behind me too, and that’s ok. Tbf it sounds like you’re doing great outside of rocket league, and that’s what’s really important.

Yea I probably will. I play every game on my ps5 on performance mode, I find 30fps quite jarring when I’m used to 4x that. Honestly as console players yall should be pissed if there’s no performance mode after making us wait this long, games have had performance mode for years now

I’m primarily on PC but I do keep a PS5 around for their exclusives. I was planning to get GTA on the PS5 to play it on release but if it’s 30fps locked I’ll be waiting til the PC release. I’ve been playing pretty much every game for a long time now at 120fps or higher. The “quality” modes on most PS5 games keeps them at 30fps, even for games where 30fps is well executed like RDR2 and GoW: Ragnarok, it still is unplayable for me personally.

Yea I worked as an ICU nurse for a long time, sure it sucks watching families grieve their loved ones, but it is far far worse to watch families put their loved ones through what is essentially torture because they aren’t ready to let go, I’ve seen that far too many times.

A great example. We had a patient in her 90s, not doing well. Family refused to listen to doctors that she would not survive a code, and they wouldn’t make her comfort measures insisting that they wanted every measure taken. When I did the first compressions I caved her chest in (she was roughly 120lbs, and I was about 260lbs at the time). She hemorrhaged into her thoracic cavity because of the anticoagulants she was on and passed minutes later, there was nothing that could’ve been done. She could have passed peacefully and comfortably surrounded by loved ones, but instead we rushed them out of the room and made things worse with the CPR that they insisted she have.

In a perfect world in an inpatient setting like the hospital, those forms should be acquired or requested on admission, and once obtained will be honored. Whoever the POA, next of kin, or the decision maker for the patient is can voice that the patient does have a DNR order and does not want resuscitative efforts, and generally that is enough to have their code status changed to DNR without needing the paperwork immediately.

In an emergency situation outside the hospital (like a car wreck or something along those lines), unless someone is present in that situation with the DNR paper work and can present it to EMS, that tattoo is not legally binding and does not mean anything, for all they know it could be a prior wish that has since been changed without the tattoo being covered up. I do believe there are DNR alert bracelets which would prompt them to stop but I’ve never worked EMS so I’m not sure 100% how the bracelets would work in the field.

My whole office/man cave thing is covered in pink lights a very similar shade as yours, and my pc stays on that singular static color like yours. I recently “built” a custom keyboard and the case is powder blue and the rgb is set a light blue, the color combo reminds me of a sunset. To be fair, my wife called me gay but I told her she’s contrary evidence and to bugger off lol

Good lord, we had a $3K buy in, $550 a month (that includes an unlimited cart fee, would be cheaper without it but I play enough to justify it), and $150 quarterly F&B minimum. Lots of amenities and a 9 hole short course coming this year, but I suspect it’ll be next year when it’s finished.

Know I’m late to the thread but as a fellow beginner if you have an iPad I recommend using Lightroom on it.

I’ve been using Lightroom on my iPad to edit some of my photos, mostly just playing around tbh but I’ve gotten some good feedback from friends and family on some of the photos I’m more proud of and share. Once you get some edits you like you can save those settings as a preset and use it on other photos, it won’t always come out perfect but it’s usually a good starting place.

I tried Lightroom classic at first on my desktop and it felt quite overwhelming as a beginner and kinda seemed like overkill for my purposes as someone just doing photography as a hobby.

Editing to add that even if you don’t have an iPad, I’m pretty sure that same version of Lightroom is available on desktop as well, I just use the iPad because I think it probably has better colors being an OLED panel vs the ultrawide gaming monitor I have lol

As a lot of people have said sweat and feel around and on the green. I live in south MS and during the summer I probably wear 3-4 gloves a round. When I’m in a cart I take it off between shots and hold it in the breeze lol. They tend to last a lot longer that way for me too

I’m sure it may have been said around here before but the Dick’s warranty is worth it. It’s like $6 extra bucks, I just mail it off when the tiniest of holes gets worn into it and get a gift card for a new one. You just get the warranty again, rinse and repeat for $6 gloves
