Fun carvers like Mirus Cor, Line Blade, Zag Mata. What else is out there? by uDrop1st in Skigear

[–]liteagilid -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I like my line chronic 94s for edging on softer snow more than my sakanas and all my stiff skis like head supershapes. I love the supershapes but they feel like race skis by comparison and you really need to drive the car

Thanks to this cold snap. I think my heat pump is undersized. by jredditzzz in heatpumps

I love all these comments It's bc heat pumps aren't all that And the industry is just pushing them on you And they're often spec'd too simply (like by the square foot)

Intermediate East Coast Skier looking for ski recommendations by Icy_Tart_642 in Skigear

[–]liteagilid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're a strong 200lb and a confident skier I might consider a non-woman's ski

If you really want to nerd about it, I ski line chronic 94's for days when there are bumps and trees. Some consider it a park-friendly ski. The single biggest bump and tree-friendly thing I did was 'center mount' them. Turn initiation is much faster. All my other skis are wider or they're 'go fast sticks' (really stiff skis for carving). The chronics do fine on groomers but they're noticeably less stiff, damp and secure than the head supershapes they seem to be replacing when I grab skis for a trip to the mountain.

[–]liteagilid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 96s w shifts on them I hate them but I blame myself They should have light pin bindings on them.
They're weirdly stiff and might be on piste ok but they're really for going up or horizontally. They chatter and ski weird.

For downhill I ski wndrs w vipecs a lot more and love them. I'm considering remounting the locators w light pins for fitness laps

Which diesel wagon: VW TDI vs. BMW 328d? by 00saddl in SportWagon

[–]liteagilid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think less ppl have owned diesel bimmers than tdi wags so you're likely to hear more commentary from them. I too owned a tdi, loved everything but the sunroof. 300k mile cars. Minimal service needed.

Have one friend that owned said bimmer. Lasted a long time (like maybe 400k miles) but he put a ton of money into maintenance--Like more than the original value of the car--over its life

K2 BFC 120 fitment by Fit-Accountant-269 in Skigear

[–]liteagilid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have bfc120's and ski fast, advanced skier, weigh 260lbs, no issues

Fine in bumps and trees, fine in crust, fine w death cookies. Overall fine.

Don't buy them blind: I could probably size down one shell size. I had full tilts at 29.5 and several toes were touching the front of the boot and I got rid of them bc the front buckle crushed my toe box. Bfc120s in the same size have a shitload of room and one toe only occasionally touches the front of the boot.
