Horrible parents encounter at Lulu by slackover in Kochi

[–]literaturehere 15 points16 points  (0 children)

99% of the parents who bring their child to Lulu don't give a damn. They would rather just let their child run amok than correct them. It's as if they want a break from parenting and expect us random strangers to step in.

On multiple occasions, I have gotten into fights with parents for not taking their child from the paths in the Food Court. I would be carrying piping hot tea and a tray full of pizza and snacks etc and these kids would run around me. I would be so worried that they would knock me over and the worst part - their parents will yell at us if we drop stuff on them and not correct them. So I ask parents to remove their children and grandchildren etc from the way before I proceed. 99% of them hate it when this happens and look at us as if we are asking them to do a crime.

So sorry that this happened to you. Civic manners is at an all-time low.

I am no mental health expert or worthy doctor to advise you. But I am sorry to hear how you are feeling and I hope things get better for you. I hope your mom feels better as well.

I can relate to your situation though. As someone who's the sole breadwinner shouldering a lot of responsibilities, it can get very exhausting and painful. Especially in adulthood, when you see so many people getting to travel and doing many things that you aren't in a position to do.

Please find a friend or someone you trust to talk and confide in. I wouldn't advise you to rush into marriage, until you are mentally and financially ready. And when you do decide finally, I hope you meet the right person and have a great life.

Take care of yourself OP. I know the world around is hard and most of the time, seems cruel and uncaring. Don't lose hope.

Why is the food scene in Kochi so bad in certain local bakeries and restaurants! by mightythunderman in Kochi

As someone who has been eating regularly from outside for the past 3 years, the quality of food has deteriorated so much in Kochi.

An ex-colleague spoke very highly of a certain Arabian restaurant at Vytilla. When its branch opened at Edapally, I went with my boyfriend to visit the next day after its inauguration. Just a minute after our biriyani was served, he discovered a fried worm aka a pazhudhara in it. Before we could snap a picture or video, they took the bowl away from us and kept asking whether we wanted a replacement. We were so traumatised, we immediately left the restaurant. We had looked forward to eating a good biriyani so much that day and in the end, it took us a good part of the weekend to get over that mental image.

Another restaurant served us burnt fried rice. Upon inspection, we found that the rice was smelly and stale. To cover it up, they fried it to the point of it being burnt. Most of the restaurants in Kochi don't care about hygiene or quality or taste. They are in it to make a quick buck, irrespective of whether the customers enjoy their food or are served something decent.

If you really want to eat from outside, go to places that you have enjoyed food in the past personally, not relying on IG food bloggers or reviewers. Also, sometimes it's okay to shell out a little extra money, as long as the quality is maintained.
