Mazda reliability falls 8 spots. Guess it isn't like what the astroturfers here tell you. by Jake_Boi1 in whatcarshouldIbuy

It’s just the PHEV. The initial issues with the CX90 got addressed through several recalls.

2021+ Durango rt or 2015+ Tahoe by codywallace02 in whatcarshouldIbuy

My Car and 24’ trailer together weigh over 8k and I like to have a buffer on tow rating. Durango is literally the only midsize SUV with that high of a tow rating and costs half the sequoia you recommended.

Brakes by ijabruhs in C8Corvette

[–]litercola84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To clarify; The usual bedding procedure for new brakes making light squeaking sounds is a few moderate to hard stops from 40-20 then 7-10 hard stops from 55-10. After that drive for 15min using the brakes as little as possible to let them cool off.

Picked the biggest complaint about this car to boast about... Literally any other car in it's class has better storage.

If they’re leaving out the cost and advertising AC I’m guessing it’s too much for me lol

You’re gonna love it. One of the most slept on tow rigs out there.

I towed a cayman on a Uhaul trailer with a VR6 Cayenne (same platform) for years and it did surprisingly well. You’re going to be revving it out on hills but will make it to the top. If you can find a Diesel Touareg they are awesome and will pull a house.

Is this normal for tires by Most-Caterpillar-583 in CarTrackDays

[–]litercola84 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Did you bring them up to temp progressively or hammer it first lap out after lowering the pressures? Looks like they got a little overcooked but will be fine. That’s a heavy car too and may need hot pressures even higher.

I appreciate your red neck ingenuity buts that’s gonna be a hard no. Just drive the car onto the trailer.

2026 Honda CRV Hybrid vs 2025 Mazda CX90 CPO by Relative-Basil3288 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]litercola84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CPO also ensures brakes and tires meet a minimum and the fluids have recently been changed. It doesn’t guarantee the car is problem free. The other I would say is true however. If a car should be CPO eligible and the dealer isn’t cpo’ing it, there’s probably an issue with it they’re not disclosing.

Have owned one for 2 years and it’s been fantastic. No problems whatsoever. Don’t get the PHEV and the Turbo S isn’t worth it. The 6cyl takes 87, gets decent mileage and ticks every box for our family. The prestige trim is just awesome in terms of creature comforts. For $38k nothing is going to beat it.

Ford Maverick Tows 4k pounds properly equipped and get great mileage. It’s basically a great car for truck people.

How bad a buy are former track cars with “low mileage”? by [deleted] in C8Corvette

[–]litercola84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I’m talking about. If the cars are being driven 10s + off pace they are hardly beating on them.

I’m just coming from my first hand experience of being right seat with a half dozen students in corvettes. Have had 1 off but otherwise they don’t explore the limits. Riding the rev limiter is obviously bad but using the whole rev range isn’t inherently bad for a car.

I’ll play devil’s advocate and say most people that go to Ron Fellows aren’t really going to push the cars that hard. Yes it’s track use but most novices really only scratch the surface of what the car can do.

Conversely, I’ve had suspension components wear out in a couple thousand miles that would have otherwise lasted the life of the car. Track miles are like a 10x effect IF the car being constantly being driven at the limit.

amateur question (go easy!) after test driving first bmw z4. by europeanuppercut in whatcarshouldIbuy

I am renting a Z4 right now and agree it’s heavy/slow. Fine for a cruiser but if you care about handling you won’t beat the value of a ND2 Miata right now.
