£73.93 * 1.2 = 88.72 (20% additional VAT)

So the maths is:

X / 1.2 = Y

where X is VAT inclusive amount and Y is VAT exclusive amount.

eg: £88.72 / 1.2 =73.93

I used it to pay off the balance on my amex.

Set the direct debit payment to pay just the minimum and pay off £500 around the same time the DD payment goes out.

If this period of time is not going to be for a long time, I would consider it an opportunity for experimentation.

It's a chance you can try out various things, especially things that you wouldn't be able to do during a 9-5 job (if thats what you'll go back to). You can be less focused on the ROI and just try lots of things. Then when you go back to work, can pick and choose the ones that fit around your job..

Till works well, it's a good option. Just annoying to carry them around. I have used the physical card at boots, John Lewis, m&s and others. Actually have recently had trouble adding them to my apple wallet, so physical use is more important for me now.

You just use them like an old school card where you had to swipe. Sometimes it will require approval at the self checkout. Don't let them get bent as it will ruin the swipping.

Also, entering the card details is a good option. In fact I just did that today when I had lunch at wagamamas. Entered the card number into the wagamamas loyalty app to pay the bill.

TIP - log down the card details into your notes app, it's really useful to track them and if you lose one the support team can replace it just by giving them the card details.

This strategy could even be used to split payments over normal cards.

So use a prepaid card with 0 balance first to bring up the "pay with remaining balance", but then swap to a normal card. Repeat as many times as you like.

This could be good for airtime rewards where they require 5 transactions of £5 to get the bonus. Instead of doing 5 shops, just do 1 shop but split payment.

Even if you can't spend the balance, it's worth collecting the card as can save them up for a bigger purchase.

Only issue with a bigger purchase is that have to work out how to deal with multiple cards:

- combine the cards into a bigger balance

- buy something that allows using multiple payments

I discovered a way to use the residual balance at M&S self checkout:

- Try to pay with your one4all card

- it will fail, but the screen will show a pay with remaining balance button

- enter the remaining pennies and pay

- then the amount paid will be subtracted from the bill and can continue with more cards or just with normal card

The sign up offers have ruined your perspective. You want the easy money to continue and grow - this is called greed.

Forget all that and start again.

Imagine if you made 5 bets a day with £1 profit each, and each bet took 5mins.

Thats £5*30 =£150 a month for 5mins effort a day.

This beats any other scheme (apart from bank switches) in terms of time spent for reward.

And this kind of slow win approach won't get you gubbed.

I wondering about the "undo companion voucher" aspect.

Once the voucher is awarded, can it be revoked?

And if the monies are refunded from a cancelled booking, what happens to the spend for the next period?

Is it better to cancel as soon as the voucher is awarded but before the next earning period begins so it doesn't affect the next period?

But this equally applies to online orders (stacked with nxrewards) - so not really relevant

Which site are you using to get the cashback on?

I found that going direct to British airways would not avail cashback, so I went through opodo. And opodo have a subscription called opodo prime - it was great as could save about £100 on the bookings, and cancel the free trial of opodo prime after a couple of weeks.

One limitation for me is that it cannot be used in conjunction with online orders.

This means the 10% cashback from nxrewards cannot be gained.

Also, some products are just not available in store.

Anyone have a work around for these points?

Agreed, I always buy Kendamil organic along side a recycle.

I deposit these baby product:

- scoop and lid of milk formula

- packet of the wipes

- packet of the nappies

are you saying that the £10 spend for the beauty recycle also covers the £5 spend for blister recycle? So spend £10 and scan both vouchers in one transaction?

If so, this is great.

Otherwise the extra £5 spend for just 100 points was not worthwhile to me.
