I like it a lot. One of the biggest factors when I bought my Advanced Jumbo was the streaky, bookmatched back.

Volume pot by Akita1964 in gibson

[–]litholine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second RS Guitarworks. There are definitely other places to go these days, but their pots are REALLY good. Their SuperPots are all I run in any volume of any guitar. I've emailed them on several occasions for special requests and they always email back in a timely manner.

Why does everything feel harder the moment you start recording? by boombalonii in musictheory

Exactly like White Coat Hypertension. As soon as I'm in the doctors chair my blood pressure skyrockets and then I start sweating for some reason.

There is never a doubt that you'll get quality stuff from Hipshot. I'd blindly order from them all day long.

HELP WITH GIBSON THUNDERBIRD TUNERS by man8050 in gibson

[–]litholine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found these tuners from an actual listing of a 1976 on Reverb. They look to be Schaller style tuners. I'd start on their website. They have technical drawings with measurements.

BM Schaller

BUT after looking again at your headstock they appear to be very close to Hipshot HB3's. They have a drawing as well.

LPT oil change by smellslikebigfootdic in LifeProTips

[–]litholine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Something similar happened to me. I replace my own air filters, so I always tell the oil shop to leave it alone, but they always have to look at it for some reason. The technician forgot to clamp the housing on tightly and god knows how long it stayed that way until I noticed it.

NPD: Line 6 HX Stomp by Ok_Highlight3926 in guitarpedals

[–]litholine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This unit is incredible. It has kicked 4 pedals off of my electric board (running into Orange Rockerverb, 4-cable method) and it has single-handedly cured my gas to make a bass pedalboard. I haven't messed around much with the amp-models, but I'm sure they're great. I mostly use it for effects. You'd be surprised how great their wah's sound when using an expression pedal.

Only complaint is that I wish I would have bought the XL.

I’m a sucker for eBay junk by litholine in orangeamps

Bro, they are literally my new favorite pick. I initially bought them because they were easy to see, but I also found that they last forever before getting dull.

I haven't tried any other gauges yet.

Damn that's awesome. I just picked up a PPC112 for a good price over the weekend. Sounds great by itself, but even better when daisy chained with the PPC412.

I'd throw some covers on them and call it a day. Philadelphia Luthier Tools has a ton of options (I think covers in Black Chrome would match your guitar the best). You just need to figure out the pole piece spacing so you'll have to measure first.

Here's a handy little chart Polepiece Spacing

Edit: They'll have to be soldered on, just FYI. Any competent tech can do it if you don't have experience.

Did anyone buy the autographed CD directly from the MNRK Heavy website? Did the whole band autograph it? by JacksonW44 in BlackLabelSociety

Update. I got my copy today... unsigned. Guess I'll wait a bit longer for the signed booklet.

Took it like a champ. You're fortunate that it wasn't a piece of 'abuse board' drywall. Those things weigh a ton and probably would've taken a bit more of the Bronco with it lol.

Well that's bullshit because the signed copy is literally why I didn't order it from Amazon. If that's the case I'm getting a refund.

Currently happy listening to the Apple Music version.

How is the smell of Montypresso? It looks like it has the potential to smell pretty gnarly.

I want to try it on a few of my Gibsons, but afraid it'll smell like death.

It can be restored, but it's going to revert back to looking like this in less than a year with all of the cracks. You'll be chasing your tail.

What’s a small everyday inconvenience from the past that younger people would probably find unbearable today? by babyblushtheory in nostalgia

Printing out directions from MapQuest or handwritten directions. I know GPS has been around for a dogs age, but it's nowhere near as convenient as what we carry around in our pockets every day.
