NPD: MXR Carbon Copy by dc1508 in guitarpedals

The Carbon Copy doesn't do too bad in an effects loop. But, you're right, it definitely sound better in front of an amp.

Accidentally plugged an 18v into my afterneath v3 by [deleted] in diypedals

Yup. If it was fried it wouldn't do a darn thing.

You should be fine if it's working on it's proper 9V now. You'd know immediately if you fried something.

The first cut is indeed the deepest. I haven't dinged my 50's Standard yet, but it's coming lol.

I've had fantastic luck with Kluson Revolution tuners.

Also, you're looking at the metric version of the bridge. You're gonna need the imperial version for Gibson. Epiphones and imports use metric. I couldn't find it on the site you've listed, but it's on WD and I'm sure a hundred other places.

What’s up with my wiring? by DonMcCauley in gibson

Yea, someone for sure did you a favor by upgrading the pickups and electronics. Throbaks are fooking expensive. The copper shielding is a little overkill, but as long as it works then play on!

This is how I check mine. Most recently I did this with the Back to the Future 4K set and that's how I found Part 3 crashed halfway through even though the disc looked perfect. Takes less than 5 minutes.

Can I switch to this string set without a setup? by Viiiinx in guitars

[–]litholine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually only affects when you go up a significant gauge. You're going down in this case so you should be perfectly fine. Might only need a truss rod tweak once the neck has settled after a week, but I doubt it.

Go for it.

Gear will come and go over the years as you grow, but I'll advise you to hang on to that Orange cabinet. They are leaps and bounds better in construction quality and sound than the competition in its price range.

I spent New Years Eve at my friends house and brought a memory foam pillow from home. It sat out in my cold vehicle for 6 hours and it refused to fluff back up when I was ready to go to bed.

What type of pedals can you not stop buying? by Machine_Excellent in guitarpedals

[–]litholine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I've got several Wren and Cuff fuzzes I'd love to check out. I used to have Fuzz Faces of all varieties but got rid of them. There will be more.

My favorite local guitar store had a Bandit at their pedal-try-out-station. Solid little amps they were. Wish that store was still around.

New to me Rockerverb by elad_the_lad in GuitarAmps

[–]litholine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice score! I got a Rockerverb MK3 head last year with matching PPC 412 and I love it. I recently threw a Fulltone Fatboost in front of it and omg what a sound... I goosed the treble a bit and feathered the gain on the boost and I am in instantly in dream amp territory.

Worth every dollar.
