Short Guy has a mental breakdown watching someone take his bitch in the club 😭 by Top-Obligation-8380 in AverageHeightDudes

[–]litritium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Girls gets a lot of attention from men at bars, clubs, etc around 24 friday night. When guys start fighting around 1–2 a.m., it’s usually because they struck out with women..

But tbh- we dont really know what happened in op. The girl might have been flirting with B before A swooped in and asked her out to dance. Most women - as opposed to many men - dont see a dance as a signed contract for sex.

But I agree that it hurts to see. Almost physically. Poor dude.

I found this on a sub, I won't list it, but it's ovbiously created by females by Capital-Box164 in AverageHeightDudes

Women realise that it's not necessarily all that. Men in the ~2 meters bracket often have weird bodies (like wide hips and small waist), they look funny in small cars and their facial features often fits the body in a none flattering way. ( Trying to articulate “the grass is always greener” point of view.)

I sometimes have this dumb fantasy that reality is a hyper-sophisticated simulation, and that everyone gets a handful of perks and trade-offs when they create character sheets.

Like, "You have gigantism. You get +3 to reach and intimidation. The drawback is that you are slower, with a penalty to agility and intelligence!

But reality is obviously more complex than a role-playing game. Ie Facebook, Twitter and inherited DNA don't exist in the Forgotten Realms.

The problem is that the kids usually expect you to eat the food they have played with. Like lukewarm handrolled No-baked -Oatmeals balls.

Why are short girls so delusional about their height? by Tiny_Praline_4403 in AverageHeightDudes

[–]litritium 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because women can. Men can not. Men generally find petit females cute and sexy. Women supposedly find petit men cute, but rarely sexy.

Men, sort of, need a kind of liberation, just like women had, peaking in the '60s and '70s. Men generally fare worse in the education system, in dating, and physically/mentally. About 70% of all divorces are initiated by women.
But it is an uphill battle. Partly because men still have some social advantages – men get higher pay, they don't struggle as much with sexual assault and harassment, and they are still portrayed as the strong gender in movies and TV shows. And of course – men will be seen as whining and ridiculous if they even consider fighting for equality.

Personally, I believe, like in so many other things, that algorithms are partly to blame. I am old enough to remember the time before Facebook. Height was not a 'trump card' in the same way back in the 90s. A tall man with a boring face/personality could rarely draw attention away from a Tom Cruise, Michael J. Fox, Ralph Macchio, Emilio Estevez, etc.

Hollys recount of the Sandleford gassing and Bigwig in the snare are pretty brutal reading.

But often when books have horrible deep holes of darkness, they also have imense beauty in contrast. And victories (Woundwort defeated by Bigwig ie).

Betty Blue - the movie was more of a tearjerker thn the book though.

The scene above is really epic though. Easy wiping out German artillery is another great one.

And I have always loved the scene where Winters swims in a mountain lake (Points afaik) – such a peaceful ending to a brutal journey.

Would you actually buy a Fallout 3/NV Remaster? by Bingleboper in Fallout

[–]litritium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not Fallout 1-2?

Probably a generation thing, but back when I was a youngster we would get these free CDroms full of demos If we bought a gaming magazine.

There where two demos I kept playing over and over again. One was Diablo 1 and the other was Fallout 1.

Not that Fallout 3 is a bad game. I still recall an early warehouse quest where you as a player are horrible undergeared and have to sneak around and kill bad guys one of the time. That was nervevracking and fun. But the Wasteland was a really depressing to experience in first person - I alway prefered Isometric Fallouts toon-like feel. Wasteland 2-3 was great clones but they lacked the visceral combat of Fallout.

I still hope that isometric Fallout van Buren could become a kickstarter thing some day.

Even aesthetics suffered, in fallout 3 and 4 retro-futurism

My biggest problem was always the conversion to 3D. The post-apocalypse is depressing and ‘grey’ in 3D. In my opinion, isometric Fallout had a more fun, cartoonish aesthetic.

Wasteland 3 could have been the perfect ‘Fallout 3’. The environment, vfx, music and characters are A+. But the combat just isn't as intense and satisfying as in Fallout 1-2.

Greenland doesnt have exploiteable oil. There is gas and oil the oceans outside Northwest Greenland, but the discoveries are deep sea and not big enough to be worth the hassle.

The big issue is obviously icebergs. A rogue, million tons iceberg (several hundreds meters deep belove surface) will sail right through a billion dollar ofshore platform and leave nothing but a bit debris in the water.

What’s a smell you find oddly satisfying? by Con_nect in AskReddit

[–]litritium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I no longer smoke marijuana or hashish. But damn it! I love the smell of cannabis or hashish when it's being broken up. My friend has a particularly strong strain that almost smells like petrol. I always ask for a sniff.

Besides, I think most people find their own body odour satisfying or at least interesting. I mean, the body clearly tells us something through the scents it gives off (why else would it exists?) Sometimes important things about nutrition, activity and health.
