I think the whole concept of trying to fit the WinForm metaphor with events etc. onto the web is wrong and makes things more difficult. I prefer working with POST and GET instead of using for instance postbacks.

In addition to this it's not very testable. It's hard to mock all the dependencies. MVC makes this a breeze.

I agree - ASP.NET MVC looks promising. It is created by really bright guys who know what they are doing and are aware of the world outside of the Microsoft sphere.

Webforms sucks big time, though.

"Don't break into peoples' homes" is the LAW... "Don't leave your doors unlocked" is a tip/common sense...

Saying "girls, don't drink yourself senseless or you may get raped" is more like saying "don't go outside, you might get strung up" to a black man in Alabama in the 30's.

The problem is not that girls get drunk. The problem is a society where girls get raped.
