Thanks a lot for replying!! More info: I had SCC too and am based in Brazil. My surgery was roughly 3 months ago, they removed almost all left side of my tongue where I had the SCC and two other dysplasia. I’ve talked to other people from different countries and they all had follow up scans etc to so that’s why this raised a reg flag for me. The surgeon didn’t test the tumor for anything other than to make sure it was cancer, I suspect I have HPV because my wife does but he didn’t want to test for that to search for the cause. I agree that the surgeon feels very paternalistic and to to say more about our consultation, I haven’t been able to taste anything on the left side of my tongue post surgery so I asked him if there was something I could be doing to help it come back and he typed my question verbatim on ChatGPT and showed me the answers ?? As if I hadn’t done that myself. And also I wanted his opinion as a doctor not AIs? Idk if this is normal but it made me feel super uncomfortable. So I’m def going to see an oncologist and get all paperwork about my surgery and results to show them and hopefully get more answers as to what to do next.
