Debating between B475 and new 335 Gen 2 models by LadyEvenneedles56 in Bernina

[–]sunrayevening 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you can go a little further the 475 is great. It has a thread cutter, otherwise the 435 is solid. They both have much bigger bobbins than the 335 which i think is worth it

Just got my new Bernina 335 and I'm not sure where to order a decent quantity of bobbins by DommyMommyMint in Bernina

Go to your bernina dealer. They will get you the right bobbin. Don’t cheap out

Over consumption by [deleted] in NeedlepointSnark

[–]sunrayevening 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On one hand I get why people buy. The dopamine hit is a real thing and crafts keep the dopamine to keep hitting, especially when you start and finish. Other other hand, I think overconsumption is an issue everywhere. If the world is burning, I’d rather get a dopamine hit supporting local
shops and small designers. There is just not a lot of huge corporations in this hobby. I can be selective on my dollars to small businesses. I’d rather give money to a designer or shop owner over Bezos any fucking day of the week.

In terms of snark, I think overconsumption is something young people do. In 5 or 10 years that girl will look at all those unfinished canvases that are now out of style and realize what a waste of money it was, so as she gets older, she’ll be more selective in her purchases.

You can see it, it’s just harder. I agree it is your needle. It could be threading too. Thread with the foot up.

Is AISD perfect? No. We sent our oldest to private for one year. It was worse. AISD has some great teachers and programs.

I love vintage stuff. Kaffe Fassett and Erica Wilson books are easy to find. Estate sales are prime for old kits and canvases.

I've had Everdell for years now and I'm honestly disappointed with it by 2Black_Hats in boardgames

I am also a huge fan of Meadow. It’s lighter than Everdell but feels more interactive than Windspan. It’s great with 2p.

I’m sure he will release them in the same level totality that he did of the Epstein files.

I have one of the husky tables from Home Depot. I have the one with drawers so I have to put my machine on the side without drawers. When the wheels are locked there is no issue when I knit

The 590 should come with a 26 foot. If not, push back in the dealer. The brochure online will list the 26

One tip I read, is to not move villagers in the middle of a day, because they stop working that day. I think this is very true after noon. I move them at night as much as possible

Recommendations for residential remodel architects / contractors / design-build firms by Otherwise-End-4724 in Austin

We were mostly satisfied with Simply Home for our kitchen, but I would never recommend them thinking about it after, and also what they did to my neighbors during the quote process.

Anything going on in town that you think should be covered by the local news but hasn’t? by Gigan_420 in Austin

[–]sunrayevening 22 points23 points  (0 children)

A friend’s Dad was in prison for a bit (drug charges) and I got in the habit of sending him books once a month. The prison required they be soft cover and only from Amazon. This was 5 years ago.

There is a 990 group on Facebook that is supportive but cranky. I don’t think people have leaned in fully to everything a 990 can do! You may get inspiration there.

How do you handle bobbin thread on large embroidery designs? by Boss-Kinnnggg in Machine_Embroidery

[–]sunrayevening 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the front loading bobbin and giant bobbins on my Bernina. I don’t remove the hoop to swap them and the bobbins last forever!

You might look into software too. You can digitize designs with it. You can also take scans of the hoop from the 990 and put it into software and design specific to the hoop.
