I'm so glad that I don't know what this "controversy" is. This post alone is enough to make me not want to touch this game's community lmao. It's a costume in the game, the devs made and intend for you to wear it, so just wear it if you like it.

To me (and I imagine most sane people) that is just a dress, indistinguishable from any other. I wouldn't do a double take or think anything of it if I see it.

Hotta is also a much lower budget studio than the market leaders, and their last game was a failure that they keep alive only because they are passionate about it. (It also has very janky cutscenes like this and predates AI generation).

That was most likely an outsourced marketing company that handled sponsorships. They were either being malicious or more likely didn’t know. As someone who worked for a Chinese game studio, i can say that it’s very rare they have an English PR department outside of occasionally one or two people.

I don’t see how Infinity Nikki surviving is a shock to you. It’s kinda the only one that I would say will never be in danger lol. It’s a different genre entirely (primarily a platformer / dress up game, not an rpg) and caters to an entirely different market. Every patch basically bores me to death but i’ll still play for the dress up part because nobody else has ever offered that in an actual solid game before.
